People are too eager to give away their power. We all had "the power" to prevent the tea party from coming to power. All we collectively as Americans had to do was to NOT vote for them. People give away their power to a religious cult. I think their mindset is like an insure teenage girl in the back seat of this horney guy's car. She figures she "owes it to him" or some such thing, just as people some way some how feel they "owe it to their cultist conversationalists" to say Yes to them. You know I just figured
out something about the way police departments work that I guess I always
darkly suspect but one incident today brought it to light. Hope interviewed EJ Di Mira on two surveillance
photographs that were taken just outside Nick’s office at Kate Robert’s
company. One showed EJ with an angry expression
on his face and then Nick comes out with an equally angry expression on his
face. I would have said to Hope, “I
really have no idea what prompted the expressions behind these photos. I don’t see why you care, but you’ve
obviously got some fanciful theory behind your questions, so why don’t you just
produce some kind of foundation for what you’re alluding to, if anything.” But you can’t get away with responding that
way to the Police. What they see their
job as is pummeling a suspect with questions until they are sure thee subject
had provided an air tight chain of evidence they can take to the DA and get a
sure conviction. After that it doesn’t
matter what you say. In terms of Daniel
and Nicole, Nicole has to remember “Just because Daniel forgave you for the
horrible act you committed, he did NOT commit himself to forgive you for NOT
telling Eric”. Capish? After this it was time to head for the
courtyard where I got two cups of iced tea from Dora. Then it was Sean Hannity. I imagine this Linda girl with the husky
voice- - probably has an Adam’s apple like Anne Coulter. She strikes me as kind of a hard-ass whose
cure for any personal problem is just to drown yourself in work. Of course hearing that Hannity is friends
with Howard Stern- - is indictment enough against his morals. I guess Sean has had more than one wife. And Howard is so completely filthy,
disgusting in every one of his sexual metaphors. Nothing about his bantor is even
tiddelating. It’s like coming across two
gay men doing each other in a toilet stall.
Howard’s topics range from incest, pediphelia, fecal matter - - need I
go on? And I’ll tell you right now that
no better fan of police brutality exists than Howard Stern. Still why do I even listen to that station
knowing they are so low in the ratings among LA stations they hardly register
at all in the ratings. Of course I’m
not blaming the I Heart Radio sponsor because they are just a loose affiliation
of twelve hundred radio stations, regardless of content.
I have now familiarized myself with more Edward Snowden
stuff. OK I didn’t mention but I’m
re-thinking my coming down rather hard on Snowden viewing him personally as a
traitor and worse – a Putin stooge. Glen
Greenwald was interviewing him today and I watched the last part of the
interview before the first part of the program.
It blew Snowden’s mind that in far flung towns and villages our drones
with cameras were watching everything they did, perhaps in preparation for
bombing them. And of course it was
stated flat out that President Obama told flat out lies on numerous occasions,
just as George Bush did, on our use of certain security measures. Just as Chelsea Brady was able to intercept
Hope’s E mails before they got to Bo and redirect them to her, so packages from companies are redirected to
some national security building. They
rip open these computer boxes and implant these devices in them such as
keystroke loggers, or some virus to turn them into zombie computers, and then
seal them back up carefully and send them on their way. Even if the company were to find out about
it, they would be so scared spitless of the government they wouldn’t dare say
anything. And apparently they flat out
admitted that “We have as our goal to have access to overhearing virtually
every phone conversation in The World!”
They stressed that this was not an exaguration. Glen Greenwald’s new book is “No Place to
Hide”. I’d like to get a copy of
it. Sometimes you think you know how bad
things are, and then they turn out to be worse.
I recommend that people get the pod-cast of yesterday’s Democracy Now
show. Now they are talking about the 9 –
11 Museum. Oddly enough, neither Bush
nor Chaney were in attendance. I guess
they would consider it just too hypocritical to show up - - any more than EJ Di
Mira would care to show up at Nick Fallon’s funeral. It’s a good thing to remember our heroic
deeds and to cherish the people who survived the perils of that day.
People assume things
like the outcome of this year’s national off year elections where a lot of
Republican governors will be up for reelection, which could lend a hand in
determining how their state will be reapportioned in 2020, and a whole lot of
other things. You hear these things like
“Everybody in America’s heartland is tuned in to FOX news, and that’s where
they get all of their information about the outside world”. But is that true, or just media hype they
want you to believe? What is the
truth? Apparently Rush Limbaugh,
according to this guest on the Ed Schultz show this morning, says that Rush
Limbaugh negotiated an eight year contract for fifty million year with a
gigantic “signing bonus”. This means
that Rush’s job is safe for three more years.
Even in 2009 it was a strange contract, and it would seem that Rush’s
ratings have plummeted so steeply that Clear Channel or Priemere Broadcasting
or whoever- - would be tempted to sue Rush Limbaugh for a massive loss of revenues
being tied to a loser for so many years into the future. They said that now when Rush Limbaugh LEAVES a station, nobody notices his departure in the daily program line-up. But KEIB, specifically named after Rush, has tanked in the ratings. They said among Los Angeles radio sttations KEIB was nineteenth or something, and is in fact trailing many foreign language stations, and even a few College based radio stations. So now you can see why Clear Channel could think they were "had". In that case Rush will lose even what friends
he has, besides the many sponsors that have stopped advertising on his program. Apparently there is this Sandra Fluke case
that was the turning point. That’s where
Rush kept calling this one government employee a slut for three whole days,
attacking her character, her morality.
This was because she favored the wider spread use of birth control pills
and that “These women can’t control their libido and have to take birth control
pills” and all of that. THAT may be the
actual moment that Rush’s carrier and reputation as a talk show host was
doomed. Of course now in the Daily Beast
or whatever they are doing articles telling Anne Coulter and Rush Limbaugh and
even George Will getting into the act- - to stop mocking the “save our African
girls” campaign. This whole “counter
campaign” makes absolutely no sense.
They are so hell bent (and hell is the operative word here) on destroying
the President’s reputation that anything even remotely connected with President
Obama they’re going to attack. One
thing that got mentioned was the Occupy Wall Street protests of two and a half
years ago. You may remember back then
people were saying “The protests will be revived in the spring when the weather
turns warmer”. Instead the whole thing
was completely dropped, which at the time seemed the smart thing to do. After all (so goes the reasoning of my brain
at the time) we MUST do everything to
PROTECT the image of President Obama and not have a whisper of doubt that Obama
somehow is sympathetic with left wing causes.
Of course the dirty little secret was the President was NOT in sympathy
with these protestors, and by the way – Never Said that he Was. So much of the time the political left
spends running away from phantoms, boogy men.
Anything that would somehow “taint the cause”. After all these young, idealistic voters,
many young college students- - had to “stand by their man” just like the Tammy
Wynette song. Now we have Hillary. I’m trying to take comfort from Ed Schultz
words of the other day saying “Candidate Hillary Clinton of 2016 will be a very
different candidate than the Hillary of the 2008 campaign was”. But you see, I’m not sure whether that’s “all
we’ve got left”. You mean there is
NOBODY worthy of competing someone we are coronating over two years ahead of
the political conventions? There is a
meme going around that “conflict and argument is bad”. Personally I’m not at ALL sure of that
premise. And conclusions made from an
unsound premise are by nature Faulty.
Not to quote John Boehner but “I think it’s time to have a real
Conversation” on this matter.
It was pointed out to
me that man, among the creatures of God, is the one who runs the risk of “over
efficiency” or getting too good at something.
Indeed the Neanderthols were expect at stampeding a herd of bison over a
cliff and then gorging themselves. Of
course this behavior couldn’t keep up for long.
But originally the guy who could kill two bison in a day was considered a
good hunter. But if you wipe out a whole
herd you have just hunted yourself into extinction. Hopefully we no longer think like Neanderthols, because after all, they became extinct themselves. You know how Rush Limbaugh loves the buzz of
a chain saw. Let’s see him out in the
woods wielding an axe and see how well he does!
How many of you have come across some hot shot sixteen year old who
brags about how “Good at sex” she is, or how many men she’s gone through? To me that’s kind of a turn-off. “Over-effriciency”. There is ONE type of gambler I would NOT
allow in my house of gambling now that I sit and think about it. This is some milti-billionaire who in order to
clean me out, all he has to do is to “double down” with every bet and
eventually he’ll win, at almost mathematically predictable intervals. Ordenary people can’t do that. Hillary Clinton they inform us in 1980 made a
profit of a thousand percent playing the commodities exchange. You can do that with a roomered unlimited
supply of cash reserve. It’s no wonder
then that the tea party people when anyone questions their word or there is an
issue or conflict on something always “double down” on the wrong behavior. This is because it works for them because
they have an unlimited supply of both money and media exposure, so that
whatever they say turns out to be “the Truth”.
Some Christian out witnessing on the street couldn’t hope to do
that. It’s a nasty fact that the
Children of the tea party have a much more faithful “backstop” of their actions
than do the Children of God.
(Selah) Of course today we have
hydrolic fracturing to extract the maximum amount of natural gas from the
ground. And now we come to the “efficiency” of modern
corporations. You know automation is not
always our friend. In former times the
CEO of a company would think, what is good for my customers, what is good for
my workers, what is good for the community, and what is good for my
stockholders. Today the smart thing to
do if you fret about rising prices of bread or coffee or sugar is just to buy
futures in these commodities, that way with every greenback that leaves your
wallet at the grocery store, that’s money in your pocket. So now
a fast food corporation makes so much in sheer profit it doesn’t know what to
do with the money so it buys stock in its own company. That’s good news for you if you are a holder
of that stock. That’s what in the trade
is known as “Money in strong hands”. It’s
like loss insurance. It’s like they have
become so efficient at “managing their worker expense” on a starvation salary
they could not hope to live on. But of
course- - they also miss the point that a happy worker is a loyal worker and a
more efficient worker, because you don’t have to keep retraining new workers
for the productive and efficient ones who leave, because those employees are
still there.
You know - - certain
beliefs are probably extinct already and it’s time to give them a fitting
burial if one even finds it necessary to do even that. After all, some people don’t have a proper
sense of Closure until there is a proper Funeral. I could like t talk about “Theolotry”. Not theology but Theolotry. This is the idea of “science” (if we must
call it that) of this “school of Biblical hermeneutics” or the belief that the
Bible was a perfect code for living that was handed down from on high and is infallible
“in faith and practice’ as the saying usually goes. Theology is the putting down of ideas- -
inspirations - - even revelations - - experiences- - you have gotten from
something Supernatural - - down on paper and making sense of it. Theology then might be described as “Describing
God by the actions you witness about him from an encounter with him”. That’s not what Theolotry is. Theolotry is putting God in a box, like you
would a caged animal. Instead of letting
YOU know what He is like- - now the shoe is on the other foot and You are
telling Him - - instructing God- - on what HE is like as you define it, and dag
nabbit, he better conform to your expectations, but if not it doesn’t matter
because when push comes to shove- - Theolotry reigns over all. There aren’t many of these “specimens’ left
any more. There used to be Walter Martin
of the Christian research institute.
There is John Mac Arthur and Chuck Swendoll, and of course Neil of the
Jesus Christ show. There is Josh Mc
Dowell and probably Hal Lindsey. But
the vast majority of local yocos you see on TV are not in this camp. You have your Pat Robertson, James Dobson, Joel
Olsteen, Rex Humbard, Arthur Blesset, Paul and Jan Crouch, and all of the other
former fixtures on that show such as Mario Merillo, Greg Laurie, Joe Megliato,
or people like O L Jaggers or Jimmy Swaggart.
These people are showmen more than anything else. They are doing what they do because they “love
Jesus” and not as some Pharisiac legalists- - who view religion per see is like
some iron clad contract. People “men of
the cloth” love to say that if you wash and wax your car on a Saturday morning
you are guilty of having your car as an “Idol”. Let me clarify this longstanding
mis-understanding. The sin - - is NOT
having some valued possession that you like to maintain and keep shiny and
clean. The sin- - as I read the Biblical
tea leaves- - is calling God a “possession” in the first place! How many old ladies have you heard talking
about “My Jesus”. As I’ve said before
many a pastor almost views God as some kind of a trained show dog, who is
paraded out and does tricks for people every Sunday. OK, I guess I’ve gross you all out enough
today.
