Time to Put the Tea Party in its Place

Apparently there have been so many gay marriage victories in the courts, it seems that the gay lobby has not lost a single court case.  They’ve won all of them, even in this ultra tea party politics environment.  It only goes to show how our culture has changed.  Now the number of states that hasn’t either legalized gay marriage, or had a court ruling in favor of the “marital equal rights” the number of remaining states has shrunk down into the teens.   Of course they don’t put actual news on the news any more, and I was out sitting and talking and smoking on the back benches during most of Eye Witness news because it’s so useless.  They never mentioned the great victory by Labor by the NLRB hearing- - meaning that Mac Donald’s is in heap big trouble, to use a little political incorrect native American lingo.

I find it hysterical and more than pathetic, that the Republicans are denying they want to impeach President Obama.   They are saying President Obama WANTED to be impeached the same way the President WANTED the government shut-down crisis of last fall which ended up costing the government 24 Billion dollars.  Of course that democratic respondent to the “Law Suit” hearings pointed out the sheer hypocracy of suing the president because he won’t enforce a law they’ve tried to repeal 52 times.   The Magna Carta said that we were entitled to a jury of our piers, which is why this case would fall flat on its face in any actual Jury trial, and why corporations don’t want to go to court to defend themselves in any legal suit because in a Jury of the average American people, we would take them for everything they’ve got.  The tea party according to Thom Hartman did decades of planning prior to 2010 when they took over America.  It dates back to that Louis Powell memo of 1972 and it went through to Jud Juanisky, and people like Paul Warwick and Grover Norquest and his signer’s pledge, and Sheldon Addelson.  I wonder if Sean Hannity’s almost pro Palestinian genocide stance, isn’t part of some pay-off by Sheldon Addelson.  You know it struck me that Samantha Brady would make an excellent Born Again Christian because she’s the ultimate moral hypocrite.  I would give Samantha Brady of Days of our Lives the lifetime achievement in moral hypocracy for the past 21 odd years on the show.  When you hear about the planning that the tea party did in “planning their assault’ on our way of life- - it compares to how much sheer caniving and planning it took Sammy to pull off her little scheme in soap land.   Kate deliberately gave information illegally to an economic rival causing Victor Kiriacus to fire her and then Stephano trusted her enough to give her his proxy vote.  And then Kate and Sammy staged that elaborate “act” in public where they pretended to be angry with each other.  It’s like the “act” the tea party is putting on right now in congress.

Now Norman Goldman is saying that Mac Donald’s is guilty of some 41 unfair labor practices.  It’s a ruling by the NLRN and Mac Donald’s, because of their peculiar franchise structure and their centralized computer system keeping tabs to see employees get both low salaries and that there is a high employee turnover to keep them low- - the NLRB is bringing Mc Donald’s up on charges.  Today is a major victory for the labor movement.   This is after dinner and we had baked chicken with yams and corn.  Dora finally made it around from behind the wall with seconds on chicken.  We had red Jell-O for desert.  Before and after dinner I was watching this “Should we sue the President” debate in the house.  I listened to two republicans and two democrats, just to make it fair.  Judy sent me a thing saying to impeach the President for promissory statements relating to Obama Care.  The Republicans are suing the President for delaying certain implementations of that same Affordable Care Act.  Go figure.

This is Thursday morning and I got up early and was on the back benches talking to Nancy Bell and looked up in the sky and saw Venus brightly shining in the sky.   As you may or not know- - the tracks below are an attempted recreation of a compilation we did way back around Mothers day of 1992 but my parents threw out stuff from 1992 years ago when I stored it at their house.  The Star Drek one involves being reminded continually that you are a hundred million miles off course and it’s getting worse.  With “Snotty” and “Schlock”.   “They Use Their Wealth” is one of the most poinient songs- originally about the Kennedy family, but today it could just as easily have applications against the right wing.  Just about all of these songs except for “Beatles” was in fact out on or before 1992.   Actually, Rush used to play good songs.

** now that Hillary bashing is back in style, let’s get in the spirit of it

We added back "Rock and Roll Doctor", which is among the songs not included from the original album.  This album was released today July 31st on Sirius A, beating out Federation plans on the home planet to re-release the original 1992 album on the anniversary of the release of the "20 years of Dr Demento" album in September.  To me it looked like side two had more short songs and needed one more.  So is Stephanie going to hold a raffle or something and the winner gets to date Jackie?  OK we're also adding back "Penis Envy" so now this album is the original 36 song length of the original album.

Bad Times in Summer 2014

Yesterday at about three thirty- - - a massive thirty inch diameter water main broke on Sunset Blvd north of the UCLA campus and because of the topography there- - the water ran down hill into the campus.  The water cascaded off the steps of Poly Pavillion, where UCLA holds their basketball games.  They just refurbished the center at the cost of millions of dollars, and now the fancy wood gym wood floor is completely ruined.  This was the biggest water geiser I’ve ever seen- and will leave in its wake a giant sink hole on Sunset Blvd.   That Drake stadium was inundated.  Students came to frolic in the water and one guy was actually swimming in it and bring belly boards to the party.  But the fired department shewed them out after an hour or so.  Some 35,000 gallons per minute were flowing out- - in this drought ridden state.  Instead of saying “Oh the humanity!” I feel like saying “Oh, the water”.  Of course people in Westwood in the neighborhood probably won’t have water service for days.  Other campus buildings had to have the carpeting and baseboard completely ripped out.  The Dept of Water and Power- - says it took so long- - to turn off the water because they need a slow shut down.  This is a hundred year old pipe installed in 1921.  That’s why we need to maintain our infrastructure.    Of course I first saw this thing on the news just before five but Eye Witness is known for driving certain stories into the ground and they had uninterrupted coverage of the story for an hour and a half, with no commercial breaks- - and I felt lucky they broke for the ABC network news.

You know these cease fires in Israel and Gaza are getting shorter and shorter.  We used to speak of a 72 hour or 48 hour cease fire.  Now it’s down to twelve hours, and the latest “cease fire” that Israel is “observing” is down to four hours.  That will give them an opportunity to re-load.  Really!  I live in Gaza and the best I can now hope for is a four hour break in the volleys of rockets- - which destroy whole neighborhoods?   This is getting out of hand.  They say that Israel’s bombing of Gaza was the heaviest ever on Monday when the Muslems celebrate one of the biggest holidays of the year, when they come out of the Ramadon fast.  But they were feasting not on food, but on bombs.   Children were playing on the swing sets during one cease fire and I imagine many of those children were killed in the next attack.  You know how Israel bombed a United Nations school deliberately set up as a refugee center.  And Israel also loves to bomb hospitals.  People used to say Israel was known for ‘Surgical strikes” but this patient died a long time ago on the table.  It’s pretty much turned into total carpet combing- - and it would seem that is Sean Hannity got his way- - every building would be leveled and every man, woman and child in Gaza would be dead.   Just remember that Gaza has been like a prison for the past ten years anyhow- - with restricted border crossing and a ban on fishing beyond a certain point, and ports blockaded.   Some of this stuff Israel has said about how ‘You people in Gaza could have had a wonderful life but you chose war” is something I’m not buying.  Of course we have to side with Israel because it’s in the Bible we’re supposed to support them.  Jesus Christ would not even support the government of Israel.  Is your memory that short?  Jesus Christ not one time supported Israel over her enemies!  The Bible line they quote from is one that according to “traditional evangelists’ doesn’t even apply to Israel to begin with.  “He who messes with God’s elect will be punished by God”.   Because “God’s elect’ for the past two thousand years has referred to Born Again Christians- - not Israel.  So Ted Cruise should be making speeches saying that I deserve vengeance on MY enemies!   That’s not going to happen.   By the way- this so called 144,000 they say Israel is- - are “brides maids”.  They are frustrated old maids that aren’t getting any sex- - and in case it escaped their attention THEY are not the ones that got married!

Thom Hartman has more economic factoids for us.  President Lincoln carried on correspondence with Karl Marx over the value of the average grunt level employee- and Abram Lincoln in anti slavery speech has spoken of how worker's labor is "economic capital" of a sort, of something where corporations get their value- - and that Slavery would circumvent this basic fact.  It's like that lady who lamented how her great grandfather lost his 'workers' after the Civil War and how it wiped him out economically. LIke Darwin's wrigings- - Max's writings were discussed in intellectual circles- - back around that period.  Hartman states that a libertaian would make free markets subserviant to Democracy and government.  Good roads, good power and water delivery, and good economies go hand in hand with government.  But Adam Smith would be the first to admit that free market capitalism like any other good thing must be "maintained".  It too can malfunction or be "out of order" if neglected.  However Hartman is still a bit of a slave to people like Glen Beck saying that the Federal Reserve is "producing money out of thin air' and that the American people are being "defrauded" because of that.  Hartman and Beck should know that this is not the Wymar republic of 1920.  I turned "cautious' on the Stock Markets last week and if you had taken your profits then it the DJI was just over 17,000.  Now it's just under 17,000.  It has been pointed out that prices are being "bid up" divorced from any expension in plants or production or consumer buying power.  The Wagner act passed in 1935 went a long way in guarenteeing Union rights, that businesses would have a broad "consumer demand base".  It didn't hit me that the Republicans overrode Harry Truman's veto of the Taft Hartley law saying that "states can opt out of the Wagner act" passed in the 'thirties and had worked just fine for a dozen years.  But it highlights the fact that- - for democrats to actually win back the house and the senate in one election- - they had to win an enormous number of seats far in excess of the paultry eighteen that would be required this year, and which now seems so impossible.  It was thanks to good speech making by people such as Ronald Reagan that the Democrats were able to win back both houses of congress in 1948.

Just call this summer “Bad Times in Summer 2014”.  Get together we could have a bad time.  Now the latest “line” from the Republicans is - - after ALL of the talk from Fox news and Sarah Palin about impeaching Obama, but now they’re saying “President Obama WANTS to be impeached.  And it talked the ultimate narcissist to want to be Impeached, because he can say to the house “Go ahead and crucify me because I have Eternal Life in the US Senate”.   So am I wrong or did this guy call Jesus Christ the ultimate narcissist?   I have Stephanie Miller on now and I’ve noted something.  President Obama was getting all serious about the severity of the economic sanctions against Vladimir Putin yesterday and saying things like ‘It didn’t have to come to this’.    He reminds me of- - that scene in Little Rascals where Spanky’s father is getting ready to give him a paddeling and he says “This is going to hurt me more than it does you” but of course Spanky put a book in his pants.   My warning is “Beware to those who bring a gun to a knife fight”.  Even if you buy into the theory that Trayvon Martin was winning the fight before Zimmy pulled out his gun and killed him - - - it’s kind of like the rampaging Women on Days of our Lives now.  You have four women, Samantha Brady, Christine Di Mira, Eve Donavin, and Teresa Donavin - - all on the warpath.    People call Putin a “Periah” or whatever- - like the whole world hates him now.  People were saying the same thing about Christine.  “Oh she wouldn’t dare show her face in Salem now”.   Remember that Putin has said that he “reserves the right to use Nuclear weapons if the conflict gets too severe”.    We tried economic sanctions against Japan in 1941 and you know how well that worked out for us.  This is a football game where there are no referees and no rules.  Diplomacy is out the window.  You may think “Oh I’m safe- - I have the moral high ground; I have world opinion behind me”.  Don’t kid yourself.  These are dangerous times, just like a hundred years ago when World War I started.  Keep in mind nobody thought WW I would be nearly as hellish of a war as it turned out to be, and it "Made things for nations worse and less stable than they were before the war began".  (Selah)  There is an dangerous epidemic both of the Ebola virus, and intransigence at the negotiating table, which could prove fatal to human civilization if allowed to go unchecked.

Stephanie Miller is on and they played that “drunk speech” of Sarah Palin getting her freak on in Colorado and making one bad joke after another and appeared to call Colorado a “border state” but it’s OK. “In her mind” she was thinking of Texas. Sarah Palin has her own TV station now for all those who just can’t get enough of Sarah Palin’s words of wisdom. And there will be more family “fun stuff” like Sarah pardoning a Thanksgiving turkey while turkeys behind here were being shoved into the wood chipper. And maybe we can see Bristol have another out of wedlock pregnancy. Now Piper, her youngest daughter (who must be a teenager now) has her own video out. President Obama signed this bill to allow people to unlock their I Phones. This was something Leo mentioned last Saturday as something both parties can manage to agree on. It’s a key victory for the consumer. At least it’s now no longer a crime to as it were “Do what you want to with your own property”. The first Law and Order was a thing on assisted suicide. But this Amy lady stepped over the line of ethics. She made a “suicide pact” leading on a very troubled woman named Christine, who has since killed herself. But of course Aimy was only faking it and only entered the suicide pact as some sort of “encouragement’ to Christian “to let her know I was with her” even though she betrayed her just like Nicole betrayed Eric’s trust. I didn’t watch all of the second Law and Order episode- - but went to bed shortly after nine.  I had the new “Ring of Fire” episode from July 27th on Sunday. There was more vulture capitalism discussed on ‘Ring of Fire” and sort of a Cliven Bundy recap, and City Bank pin pricked with a nine billion dollar fine. This is later at ten twenty and experiencing “letter lag”. I got another rolly from Ron just before nine thirty. I went for coffee in the courtyard from Dora after ten and had two cups of coffee. So it looks like the 24 hour lunchtime tally for total cigarettes smoked will be three and a half. We haven’t heard any more about the plan to pave the streets with photo voltaic cells.

Today on the soap opera is the ugly return of Christine Di Mira more evil than ever, it seems.  Samantha is on a rampage taken vengeance on Abigail by getting her fired from her hospital position and she wants Kayla to do it.   She wants Kayla to dismiss her “with cause”, which means “with prejudice” so that Abigail can never apply for another hospital position.  And she is threatening Kayla with the loss of a big donation if she fails in her duty, but clearly she wants the thing made public because people can look it up in the public record what Abigail was fired for.  So again- - Samantha wants to punish Kayla- - or imply "I could have your job" and to publicise an "pecadello" of one employee that occurred months ago- - and disgrace Abigail and the Hospital- - and put the whole going concern and a big donation at risk- - all for something nobody would know about it Samantha didn't tell them.  So Samantha is a complete hypocrite, and maybe Will can exert pressure on her to stop her rampage, but as Will says “Samantha has been known to hold a grudge for years (if not decades) despite her own past moral misdeeds.

Shelly Serling Pervails in LA Clippers Lawsuit

Shelly Serling has pervailed in her lawsuit against husband Donald, for battle of control of the fate of the Los Angeles Clippers.  The judge issued a tenative ruling in her favor this afternoon.  The ruling is fully implemented in ten days.  At this time Shelly Serling is free to sell the LA Clippers to that Microsoft guy Steve Balmer, and she'll get the original price if she concludes the deal by August 15th.  This is a good deal for her because no doubt the value of the team has dropped considerably in the past few month since the Clippers were in the play-offs three months ago.  The LA Lakers have officially hired ex player Byron Scott as their coach.  But people are pessimistic about the Lakers ever having another championship anytime soon.  Meanwhile in football it seems the St Louis Rams are seeking to get out of their contract and move back to Los Angeles.  There is now talk of building a new stadium for them on the grounds of Hollywood Park in Inglewood, since it's been closed.  I had previously heard they were planning on doing a massive ammount of apartments and other commercial building on that land but perhaps now maybe things have changed.  Anyhow it's believed there is a new deal in the works.

Thirteen people were struck by lightening at the beach in Vennice. There was one swimmer who was initially in “grave” condition and then he passed away. There was a guy on a surf board and he is in critical condition. About six people were hospitalized- - and others said it wasn’t just a single bolt but three bolts- or someone said a “sheet” of lightning. The sound it made was horrific. A man on a golf course was also struck by lightning in Catalina, and in Redondo beach- - a building was hit by lighting and left burn marks. We didn’t get any rain at all here. This sudden turn for the humid and sultry- - reminds me in the change in weather that took place in late June of 1992 just after the summer solistis. That change in the weather also signaled an adverse C change in the things in my own life. But there is a fire in Yosemite and a fire near Sacramento “a hundred miles to the north”. Of course they tell us in the news that we are “just getting into the peak of fire season” but fire season these days begins in February around here. Meanwhile it’s no picnic in other parts of the country. There was a huge mass of storms in the Ohio Valley and beyond- - tornadoes in Tennessee and other places. As Keith observed – tornadoes used to strike out in the sticks- - but more and more these tornadoes are striking populated areas. There seems also to be an unusual amount of violent hail storms. It’s all a part of that “climate change” that the Tea Party denies even exists.

We know what a loser the Obama Aministration has turned into as new, adverse polls come out all the time. According to Hannity 75% of the American people want these border refugee minor children deported immediately.  I didn't know we had become that cold hearted as a people.  According to Hannity "The President continues to pursue his radical agenda" and Obama also states that this President is the most hostile to Israel of any US President and constantly sides with Islamic extremists.  Do the American people at large believe this?  I wanted to see a pre election speech of Barock Obama to figure out what was so irrestable about this guy’s message. Of course the thing was sort of a laundry list of platitudes and there were neither any real promises or policies, or firm statements in the entire speech, and I kept talking back to the screen. Where do you think John Kennedy would be in the history books today if he had let his most ardent supporters down in such a massive way as Obama has let his base down? I played “I Feel Fine” from Beatles no 1 album, which has a playing time of 1:19 - - or 79 minutes which noses out “20 years of Jethro Tull’ for the longest CD ever.

We have a potpuree of news items. They are finishing up the Tour De France today and all of the KNBC people said they have spent zero time watching the race. My total viewing time would add up to less than a minute. I’d like to see more. The annual surfer’s convention is in Huntington Beach and they say it lasts nine days. This year they are NOT closing any streets, and they are also disallowing a while lot of vendors- - because people were there for other things rather than the surfing contest. OK. There is a crisis in Libya where there are two rival Islamic factions fighting each other. Now we have closed or “suspended activity” in our embassy there, and we are playing it safe this time. There is another Ebola virus outbreak and I guess one American citizen came down with Ebola. I’ve heard the reason why that virus doesn’t kill more if because people die within days of getting the infection, so can’t infect many others.

Sean Hannity's problem is that he regards War as some spectator sport like a football game where he can jump up and down and raise his voice and get excited - - instead of the Hellish enterprise war is. On his program today Sean Hannity ranted about Gaza and Hammas the whole hour saying “We aren’t yet inflicting enough pain”. Well, Hamas never bombed his house and Hannity never served in the Armed Forces and I don’t see him volunteering to go now.  It's almost like- - if Hannity wandered into an S & M parlor and there was all of this bondage and degredation going on - - and Hannity is really getting off on it, but then someone blows a whistle and announces "All right, time to change places" and Hannity has this look of petrified shock on his face.  Hasn't Sean heard that rejoycing in gratuatus evil isn't Christian?  I don't know if what Israel is doing is a war crime or not, but I think the topic is definitely worthy of debate.  But also there is the matter of 120,000 innocent Iraqi civilians we bombed in the war. Nobody ever seems to mention that atrocity. Also there are 180,000 dead in the Syrian civil war and nobody seems to care about that, either. Instead we praise Al Assad for “protecting the Christian churches”, or at least that’s the rap on him from the right now.   Tom Hartman told one caller that “The government is not a corporation”. My view is that technically it isn’t but it’s a hand maiden to corporations and works hand in glove with them and is sort of a “conduit” between the corporations and the people, carrying out the will of corporations- their wishes for “government” of the rest of us. Corporations wouldn’t be where they are without the police power of government. The caller sounds like a libertarian but really he’s a closet liberal.

Just to show how disjoint “Days of our Lives” has become, a week or so ago they showed a “preview” commercial in which Kate and Samantha were again hostile tword each other and Kate says something like “There can be only one Mrs Di Mira in this house and that’s me”.   And the narrator says “the rivalry is back on”.   What’s strange about this - - is that this scene never aired- no anything vaguely close to it.  Stephano has not set foot in his own house in what seems like months, and Kate and Samantha still have this blood oath of loyalty thing going - - which is so counter to the way these characters have interacted since either has been on the show in 1993.   But they have so many plots going- - the thing isn’t a movie narrative but more of a collection of snap shots each with little relation to the other.  They throw in so many oddball facts and oddities that have occurred in the past nobody remembers- - - and they don’t have the “depth of bench” to adequately portray all the plots they have going at once.
