Shelly Serling Pervails in LA Clippers Lawsuit

Shelly Serling has pervailed in her lawsuit against husband Donald, for battle of control of the fate of the Los Angeles Clippers.  The judge issued a tenative ruling in her favor this afternoon.  The ruling is fully implemented in ten days.  At this time Shelly Serling is free to sell the LA Clippers to that Microsoft guy Steve Balmer, and she'll get the original price if she concludes the deal by August 15th.  This is a good deal for her because no doubt the value of the team has dropped considerably in the past few month since the Clippers were in the play-offs three months ago.  The LA Lakers have officially hired ex player Byron Scott as their coach.  But people are pessimistic about the Lakers ever having another championship anytime soon.  Meanwhile in football it seems the St Louis Rams are seeking to get out of their contract and move back to Los Angeles.  There is now talk of building a new stadium for them on the grounds of Hollywood Park in Inglewood, since it's been closed.  I had previously heard they were planning on doing a massive ammount of apartments and other commercial building on that land but perhaps now maybe things have changed.  Anyhow it's believed there is a new deal in the works.

Thirteen people were struck by lightening at the beach in Vennice. There was one swimmer who was initially in “grave” condition and then he passed away. There was a guy on a surf board and he is in critical condition. About six people were hospitalized- - and others said it wasn’t just a single bolt but three bolts- or someone said a “sheet” of lightning. The sound it made was horrific. A man on a golf course was also struck by lightning in Catalina, and in Redondo beach- - a building was hit by lighting and left burn marks. We didn’t get any rain at all here. This sudden turn for the humid and sultry- - reminds me in the change in weather that took place in late June of 1992 just after the summer solistis. That change in the weather also signaled an adverse C change in the things in my own life. But there is a fire in Yosemite and a fire near Sacramento “a hundred miles to the north”. Of course they tell us in the news that we are “just getting into the peak of fire season” but fire season these days begins in February around here. Meanwhile it’s no picnic in other parts of the country. There was a huge mass of storms in the Ohio Valley and beyond- - tornadoes in Tennessee and other places. As Keith observed – tornadoes used to strike out in the sticks- - but more and more these tornadoes are striking populated areas. There seems also to be an unusual amount of violent hail storms. It’s all a part of that “climate change” that the Tea Party denies even exists.

We know what a loser the Obama Aministration has turned into as new, adverse polls come out all the time. According to Hannity 75% of the American people want these border refugee minor children deported immediately.  I didn't know we had become that cold hearted as a people.  According to Hannity "The President continues to pursue his radical agenda" and Obama also states that this President is the most hostile to Israel of any US President and constantly sides with Islamic extremists.  Do the American people at large believe this?  I wanted to see a pre election speech of Barock Obama to figure out what was so irrestable about this guy’s message. Of course the thing was sort of a laundry list of platitudes and there were neither any real promises or policies, or firm statements in the entire speech, and I kept talking back to the screen. Where do you think John Kennedy would be in the history books today if he had let his most ardent supporters down in such a massive way as Obama has let his base down? I played “I Feel Fine” from Beatles no 1 album, which has a playing time of 1:19 - - or 79 minutes which noses out “20 years of Jethro Tull’ for the longest CD ever.

We have a potpuree of news items. They are finishing up the Tour De France today and all of the KNBC people said they have spent zero time watching the race. My total viewing time would add up to less than a minute. I’d like to see more. The annual surfer’s convention is in Huntington Beach and they say it lasts nine days. This year they are NOT closing any streets, and they are also disallowing a while lot of vendors- - because people were there for other things rather than the surfing contest. OK. There is a crisis in Libya where there are two rival Islamic factions fighting each other. Now we have closed or “suspended activity” in our embassy there, and we are playing it safe this time. There is another Ebola virus outbreak and I guess one American citizen came down with Ebola. I’ve heard the reason why that virus doesn’t kill more if because people die within days of getting the infection, so can’t infect many others.

Sean Hannity's problem is that he regards War as some spectator sport like a football game where he can jump up and down and raise his voice and get excited - - instead of the Hellish enterprise war is. On his program today Sean Hannity ranted about Gaza and Hammas the whole hour saying “We aren’t yet inflicting enough pain”. Well, Hamas never bombed his house and Hannity never served in the Armed Forces and I don’t see him volunteering to go now.  It's almost like- - if Hannity wandered into an S & M parlor and there was all of this bondage and degredation going on - - and Hannity is really getting off on it, but then someone blows a whistle and announces "All right, time to change places" and Hannity has this look of petrified shock on his face.  Hasn't Sean heard that rejoycing in gratuatus evil isn't Christian?  I don't know if what Israel is doing is a war crime or not, but I think the topic is definitely worthy of debate.  But also there is the matter of 120,000 innocent Iraqi civilians we bombed in the war. Nobody ever seems to mention that atrocity. Also there are 180,000 dead in the Syrian civil war and nobody seems to care about that, either. Instead we praise Al Assad for “protecting the Christian churches”, or at least that’s the rap on him from the right now.   Tom Hartman told one caller that “The government is not a corporation”. My view is that technically it isn’t but it’s a hand maiden to corporations and works hand in glove with them and is sort of a “conduit” between the corporations and the people, carrying out the will of corporations- their wishes for “government” of the rest of us. Corporations wouldn’t be where they are without the police power of government. The caller sounds like a libertarian but really he’s a closet liberal.

Just to show how disjoint “Days of our Lives” has become, a week or so ago they showed a “preview” commercial in which Kate and Samantha were again hostile tword each other and Kate says something like “There can be only one Mrs Di Mira in this house and that’s me”.   And the narrator says “the rivalry is back on”.   What’s strange about this - - is that this scene never aired- no anything vaguely close to it.  Stephano has not set foot in his own house in what seems like months, and Kate and Samantha still have this blood oath of loyalty thing going - - which is so counter to the way these characters have interacted since either has been on the show in 1993.   But they have so many plots going- - the thing isn’t a movie narrative but more of a collection of snap shots each with little relation to the other.  They throw in so many oddball facts and oddities that have occurred in the past nobody remembers- - - and they don’t have the “depth of bench” to adequately portray all the plots they have going at once.
