Political Reality is on an Endless Loop Today

Bernie Sanders officially kicked off his campaign for president last Saturday morning at Brooklyn college.  They had it on C-Span yesterday and the miking was different.   The original on Saturday was a big garbled due to over-modulation.  I caught Bernie Sanders’ campaign rally in Brooklyn where Bernie grew up.  I listened to the introductory guy who said just how active Sanders was in protesting for student and black rights.   He was man-handled by the Chicago police when they tried to put Black stuents in rat infested trailers for over-crowded classrooms while white classrooms went empty.  Sanders covered all of the main issue but some things were a little unrealistic.  He wants of course paid maternity leave and comprehensive health care.  He wants justice of all forms including racial justice and “environmental” justice.  He wants free college education for everyone in America and his most sweeping statement was to  guarantee a job for every American at fifteen dollars an hour.  He was more hard left than even I thought.  He was strong on gun regulation.  I think it’s a good thing that he lays it all out to get it before the American public.  We can debate it and the others can offer criticism of certain planks.  The speech lasted a half hour and it could have gone longer.  I went out for a smoke and when I returned Bill had it on

It doesn't look like President Trump will ever be either impeached or indicted now.  He can't be impeached because that is considered "too political".   The democrats are worried about what Republicans think more than their own wishes.  And the President can't be indicted because you can't indict a sitting president so he has to be impeached first and removed from office by the US Senate so he can then be elligable for indictment and prison time.   I caught Trump's C-Pack speech excerpts last Saturday.  The speech lasted two hours and Sanders' speech lasted only forty minutes according to C-Span.  The President just rambled on and on.

Sixty Minutes had these teenagers who filed a law suit against the federal covernment and the courts have accepted the case.  It’s on climate change and he government has known of the dangers of hydro-carbons since 1965.  I wish them all the luck in the world.  Then there was a thing on trains and safety but a lot of the time I was getting my medication.  Then it was on getting girls into computer sciences.  They are there at grammar school level but drop out in middle school.  I guess the dating scene is more important and they want to appear feminine or something.  Anyhow when you get to eighteen and college level, the girls are almost gone.

President Trump Walks Away from Negotiations

We learn from Stephanie that Trump walked out of the peace talks in Hanoi.  I guess this shouldn’t be news but Stephanie thought it was hillarius.   Trump would thus be the second president to lose in Viet Nam.   I can’t blame Trump.  If someone avoids doing something really stupid it isn’t a bad thing; it’s a good thing.   The deal had been that Kim Jung Un would give up one uranium enrichment plant if we would drop all of our economic sanctions against North Korea.  This would not do, even in Trump’s limited perception.  Even he saw that the whole trip was a gigantic mistake thrown together at the last minute to take the spotlight off of Cohen.   I think it was midnight when the hearings began if Viet Nam is seventeen hours ahead of us, which I think they are.  Thus it would have been a late dinner and Trump perhaps most of the night watching the hearings.  Trump tweeted and called Cohen a liar and said that “Even Cohen said that there wasn’t collusion”.

I went to the room to catch the Michael Cohen testimony right about seven thirty and I caught most of the opening statement.  He called Trump a liar, a fraud and a cheat.  I was surprised he didn’t go into more close detail on a time progressed basis, but instead he skipped around quite a bit.  The Republican questioning wasn’t productive at all.  They would have gotten an F in terms of defense council for their client.  All they could do is to remind everybody that Cohen is a liar and he’s lied in a lot of areas where he was self-serving that didn’t involve the President at all.  The democratic questioner weren’t much better.  Again they didn’t ask substantive questions about the testimony but only went over the same ground that Kohen has already covered.  Cohen in one speech reminded people that for ten years he served Donald Trump and instinctively knew what to do to please him because Trump spoke in code.  He never issued an overt directive.  Of course we all know that Cohen was unable to say that he personally knew of “collusion” between the Trump campaign and the Russians.  He did mention all the areas where democrats were suspicious and confirmed them.  He talked about the Trump tower in 2016.  He talked about Julian Assange tipping them off that there would be an E mail dump of Hillary’s E mails in three days.  This was July 18th or 19th and the E mail dump came out on July 11nd.  He also specifically mentioned paying the president reimbursement checks for paying off Stormy Daniels buying her silence.  There was talk of threatening colleges Trump; had attended if he revealed his grades or SAT scores.   They seemed to go right through to eleven or so without a break but then took a really long and late break for lunch.     I had on Gary and Shannon because KNXT was back to showing their soap operas.  I watched Days of our Lives until the housekeeper came in to change the sheets and shewed me and Bill out of the room.  I hung out aroud the building.  We’re getting to that light car now.  We never got any rain yesterday.  Finally I reentered the room and had that sports bedspread and also a tan blanket on top of the bed.  I was finally able to continue with the afternoon session on KTLA.  There was only about another half hour to go.  Cohen gave his summation speech where once again he reminded us that democracy was at stake and not for others to go down the same deadly road he himself went down with President Trump in terms of lying to defend him.  Then a republican spoke.  Finally Rep Cummings gave his closing speech.  At a while he appeared at a loss for words but finally found his stride and stated the importance of what they were trying to accomplish.  There was a rumor that Cohen was weeping during his speech.  By this time it was a little after two and they were done for the day.  I turned the station to Dateline

Let's talk about life after death.   Then there was our realm of pure intelligence.  People always want to get to heaven as though life on earth couldn't possibly provide the joys of life they so crave.  Actually to be a bit synical, this could be described as a realm of pure thought but also continuous mental or psychic warfare like some elaborate chess match.  St Paul referred to a realm of "powers of the air" where "heaven" is litterally the abode of Demons.  You might almost say that St Paul has a phobia of the supernatural.  Once he said that "Though we or an angel out of heaven preach another gospel besides the one you've already heard (from us) then "Let him be accursed".   This "gospel" thus must be esteemed at an awfully high value.  Other scripture says that Satan walks before the throne of God and accuses "the bretherin" day and night.  God must find this awfully annoying.  We have had a question in our mind whether there is "time" as we know it in this form of "hyperspace" for lack of a better word.  It's not "hyper" in terms of being faster than the speed of light but rather "hyper" in terms of being beyond or not related to the dreaded graviton, which so defines time and space and mass as we know it.  It has been argued that we can be alive and dead at the same time and at some point we ourselves will remember BEING in heaven WHILE we are yet in the flesh on earth here.  This is a strange concept but it's alluded to in scripture.

Shawn Hannity went to Viet Nam with the president we are told.  The lives thus of Shawn Hannity and President Trump are really intertwined.  It goes without saying that you can't believe a word Shawn Hannity says on his radio program and I've scarcely tuned in the show at all over the past year or so.  You could pretty much say I never watch it anymore.  The charge has been lodged that Cohen is lying about the president to get a reduced prison term.  The show is actually on the other foot.  Cohen is TELLING THE TRUTH because he fears reprisal from the government and if he isn't arrow straight in his testimony, more time will be added to his prison sentence just as it was with Manifort.  I think we can all agree that we don't need Muller's final report to hand down indictments.  But we can't hand down indictments, most argue, untill the president is impeached and removed from office.  People forget this.

The Christian Church Rome Connection

The TV news is a constant drone of repeat stories.  We hear the one about the mechanical shark from Jaws that’s being restored now.  There is the under-age prostitution ring out of a message parlor in Jupiter, Florida.  The coach of the Patriots was twice caught having sex with under-age girls.  But he’s still buddy-buddy with Trump.   Then there is that singer with a long string of sexual assault charges.  Then there is that Presidential veto of that cancelation of the border wall emergency.  The President obviously fears that not only will the House vote out a bill but that Republicans in the Senate will go on and pass this cancelation of the presidential emergency.   Then of course we have the news that Muller will NOT wrap up his investigation by next week.  That was just a rumor I’d heard on the Bill Press show and it isn’t true.  And those parents of the thirteen kids from two to 29 pleading guilty to all charges so the kids wouldn’t have to testify in court.  Patty said that on bus tours of mansions of the Hollywood stars, it was snowing and people remarked “How come your rain is white?”   It doesn’t look like Whoopi Goldberg will be hosting tomorrow’s awards.  They are going to try and present all 24 academy awards in three hours.  At least one of these rigged elections will be fixed.  In North Carolina a republican congress candidate won in a ballot stuffing affair and his son warmed him about it.  Now the father himself is convinced that the election results are no good and has concented to a new election.  I am hopeful that as the American public becomes more disserning that more rigged elections will be overturned.  And Roger Stone has an official gag order slapped on him by a judge in his case because he has been making these statements about the “deep state being out to get him” in his trial.

The book of Acts seems to soft peddle Peter by writing him out of the script at a certain point just like that Black actor who made those false charges was written out of the show.   But the Catholics honor St Peter by declaring him to be the first Pope.  He was according to them crucified in AD 66 and I don't know why such a late date.  This was after Nero and the fire at Rom and all of the throwing of the Christians to the lions.  But these Christians did not buy into all of the theology of either the Book of Acts or the Epistles of Paul, which I don't believe were written yet.  I think what got the Jehovah lobby's attention in the messiah department was the death of Apolonius of Tyannus, who went to heaven after forty days.  They thought "We could do something like that".  I think the Epistles of Paul were written about sixty years later than they claim to be written.  I think much of the Book of Acts is fictional and the other part of it is just back-dated.   Paul wanted to visit the church of Rome, which was already in existance.  We know that.  But what the Bible never tells us is WHO founded the Church at Rome.  It may have been the "Real" Jesus Christ himself, who went to Rome as a way of getting away from the dubious vibes of Palestine and also to reunite with his biological father.  Jesus never says anything nice about Israel or bad about the Roman Empire.

The Christmas stories in Luke and Matthew are completely different.  But what they agree on is that Jesus was of the tribe of Judah and a "son of David" and born in Bethlehem.  This is their OT prophecy connection that they wish to establish.  They also wanted to make him really Jewish. This is all part of the "framing" of Jesus's ministry.  Another underlying theme of the NT is that they wanted to make Jesus's ministry a failure and everybody "rejected" him, though clearly he met with great success and was even called a "Superstar" in the rock opera.  In fact they didn't want to arrest him in public because they feared riots on his behalf breaking out.  But there is this counter-current that does Jesus died a failure and it wasn't until the coming of the Holy Spirit in Acts that things turned around miraculously.   Where before he saw nothing but failure without the Holy Spirit, now with the Spirit success and miracles were just around every corner.

One concern about Christianity I've had lately is this so called "healing crisis".  We've heard of people who had cancer or diabetes and got sicker and sicker and eventually died.  Fred Price says to ignore this seeming failure of the healing and to give thanks to God FOR your healing that "by faith" you have already received.  Thank God that you have what you clearly DON"T have.  This is wrong thinking in my book.  Nowhere in scripture to I read of people being compeled to thank God for blessings that were never received.  We don't have to bang the gong and wave a banner to get God's attention and get him to act.  He either acts or he doesn't act and we know that pretty quickly.   I know Jesus taught about "having faith" but if you clearly don't have this kind of faith it seems to me that you're up a river without a paddle and going the wrong way with no way to get back.

Has "The Force" Really Awaken?

.  Sixty Minutes had that Mc Cabe guy on from the FBI.  He talked about Rosenstein a lot, the deputy Attorney General.  He wanted to put a wire on and send himself to the Oval Office to talk to the President.  Mc Cabe was also summoned to the Oval Office and pressured into saying stuff against William Comey but he wouldn’t do it, but said that everyone in the FBI was sad about Comey’s departure on May 9th of last year.  Mc Cabe was fired on some trivia thing of lying I’m not sure how.  He want to correct an erroneous Wall Street article about him.  In return Trump told lies about him in the 2016 campaign by “conflating” a number of things.   After this it was the African girls kidnapped by Bokoracoon of whatever.  They were brainwashed into the Islamic faith and some of them entered into forced marriage and others were just raped.  Now they are at a strict Christian school and hope to go to college.

.  I turned on Bill Press at five thirty.  Bernie announced early this morning he was running for president again and they had that on Bill Press.  I later saw a video where he talked about Trump being divisive and the most racial president we’ve ever had.  Bernie Sanders got a haircut and looks better now.  He looks younger.  Then it was Stephanie Miller.  She was a little cool toward the idea of Bernie running.  I guess the Hillary lobby still hates him.  They ran a poll among democrats and 59% said they definitely would NOT vote for Bernie while only 31% said they definitely would.  This leaves ten percent undecided.  If Bernie can hold on to thirty he'll be doing well.   One would hope now that maybe "The Force" has awakened, just like that movie the other night.

I watched “Days of our Lives”.  Today in retribution for Gabriel threatening to cut off Leo’s genitals Leo figured that game playing was over.  He’s ending his marriage to Sonny but as a price of that he’s having Will and Sonny arrested.  He’s releasing the photographs of his one-time murder.  I didn’t go out for snacks either in the morning or the afternoon.  Money Draw was held after lunch or at least that’s when Jennifer announced it.  The line was short, which was a good thing because it was so cold.  She said I had twenty left so I asked for and got twenty.  I went to the store and bought a pack of cigarettes.  At two I went to see Dr Saran.  I was given a low number by Jeff.  (“9”)  Dr Saran gave me another pneumonia shot and this was the most painful shot I’ve gotten in my life.  Dr Saran also brought up the colonoscopy and I let the remark pass.  Kathy and a bunch of others were waiting.  I spent time out back.

.   On the ABC news there was this guy named Hassen who was in the coast guard and he made up a list of prominent democrats such as Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schummer whom he wants to murder.  He also wants to knock off Camille Harris and Kerston Jildebran and the Cory Booker, the Black guy.  He had a stockpile of weapons at his apartment.  What if one of these guys ever succeeded.  Anyhow this is a white right wing terrorist.  There’s no question about that.  I think the guy said he’d kill all these people plus any civilians he saw, in retaliation for Trump’s impeachment.  Meanwhile Muller is planning to wrap up his investigation next week.  But he’ll only share the report with the Attorney General and not with congress, so if he wants bury it he can.  Barr of course has a long record of siding with cover-ups.  He recommended that all of those Iran-Contra suspects be pardoned in the early ‘nineties, and they were including that Abrams fellow.

President Trump wants to keep that young woman who "defected" to ISIS in the Mideast from returning to this country.  She was only nineteen, and impressionable, when she was brainwashed by stuff she read on the internet.  She went abroad and married three husbands who in turn died.  She now has an eighteen month old son and desperately wants to return to America.  I'd certainly let her as an example of the mercy of America as opposed to the dictatorial tyrany of the Mideast.  She now sees that democracy and freedom are precious comodities.  Trump instructed cabinet officials not to let her in just as another woman was kept from returning to Britain.  To me letting her back in is the only Christian thing to do.  You do remember the story of the Protigal Son, don't you?

I wanted to talk about this one Dateline episode I saw the other day.  It's about this young woman named Michelle who was accused of stalking her ex fiancee and his new wife.  It turns out she was completely innocent of the charges and the psycho new wife staged the whole thing.  But then after talking about God and religion and the devil and vengeance, she upped the ante to setting up a rape fantasy thing where stranger men would come to the apartment where the couple lived at all hours wanting a rape scenario.  They were all turned away.  First the Anaheim police were against Michelle and thought she was guilty till they did more in depth detective work and fingered the guilty party, which was the wife.  But it only goes to show that some people in prison are completely innocent and they live a hellish life in prison with people looking at them funny thinking about the crime they have been charged with.  It will take time for this young woman to put her life together again.

I realize I've gotten really behind in my blogging.  I just haven't been motivated.  I hope the Force really does awaken and the tide of our domestic political affairs turns to a move positive direction.

President Trump Declares State of Emergency

President Trump was scheduled to declare a state of emergency today as soon as he signs the budget bill that he is “unhappy” with, with the blessings of Mitch Mc Connell.  Of course the democrats would pull a fast one and declare a state of emergency on climate control or these floods or else the rampant gun violence or maybe even declare a health care emergency.   I guess what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.  Trump only got 1.3 billion on the border wall when he could have had 1.6 million before Christmas because Senator Mc Connell was all set to vote out a bill like that.   This translates to 55 miles of the wall verses over 200 miles of the wall at 5.6 million.

This is Tuesday February 12, 2019, which used to be Lincoln’s Birthday.  On KNBC news they are announcing the banning of all furs city-wide in Los Angeles.  I don’t agree with their decision.  I believe we should let the popular market decide.  I had on C-Span and it was a bunch of Republican senators talking about this apparent budget deal with the president for keeping the government open.  They are spending 1.4 million on the wall they are calling “fencing”.  President Trump is not happy but appears to be undecided whether he’ll sign this joint bill between the House and the Senate.  After this it was Norman Goldman for that hour.  At the bottom of the hour break I went out for a cigarette.

.  There is still not the vaguest hint of when Special Prosecutor Muller is going to hand down his indictments.  Like I say, I’m beginning to think that is never going to happen.  By this time in 1975 people were talking about the collapse of the allies in Viet Nam and the final and total defeat for the US with the loss of the government.  Nobody was thinking about Watergate.  This scandal has gone on for nearly three years and that’s too long not to do anything about it.  Knowing how indictments and a final report would shut the right wing up for good you would think Muller would hurry the report just so he doesn’t allow more passage of time for the public to lose interest in the whole thing, which I’m suspecting they already have.  The whole scandal thing is turning into nothing more than a vague pipe dream by now.  The Minnesota lady senator declared her candidacy in a show storm.

Obviously it rained last night and I couldn’t sit down.  I came in and laid down after making instant coffee.  I turned on Joel Olsteen at five thirty.  He threw everything in the book into his sermon today talking about the promises and blessings of God.  One thing he said that stood out was “Don’t debate it; just accept and believe it”.   Most of us can’t do that.  I am by nature a debater.  I’m a man of reason.  I decided not to turn on any conspiracy stuff on KFI.  I don’t dismiss something just because I’ll be accused of being “one of these conspiracy freaks”.   But you have to have facts and with the 9 – 11 conspiracy you have all sorts of “facts” that cannot be denied.  At six I continued to have KNXT news a few more minutes till I turned it to KABC.

Well, that isn't much for a whole week's worth of news.  I haven't been very creative lately.

It's Just "More of the Usual"

Things are a mess in national politics.  Muller is not one bit closer to handing down any indictments and once again I’m thinking he’s never going to do it.  It’s been so long.  The top three people are under a cloud of scandal.  The Lt Gov guy has that sexual scandal and the other two are worried about black face.  They can’t get rid of all three or else then they would have a republican as governor of Virginia.  Now the current attorney general, Widicker is on the stand testifying before a congressional committee and it isn’t going well at all.  He said he would only testify if it were voluntary, which means he gets to refuse to answer any questions he doesn’t want to so it’s near useless even having him there.  All he can say is, “This process is too political”.   Obama never said his detractors were too “political” when they spent months investigating that IRS agent and then Hillary for the E mails and Bengazi.  But all we hear now is if they investigate Trump or try to impeach him they are “being too political”.   People like Millie still say even at this late date that Obama is the worse president we ever had- - and of course point to the deficit.  Naturally we don’t know what Trump’s deficit will be after eight years.  Obama ran a deficit because he had to to keep the economy afloat.  Trump is deliberately having a tax cut for the rich to cause a deficit.  This is a deficit of choice and there is a major difference.  Trump still feels secure with his base and we have given him little reason to feel uneasy.  All our committees are pretty much impotent to do anything these days and Trump knows it.  He’s counting on his base to re-elect him.  Obviously he’s counting on another light turn-out as well as continued election fraud by purging people from the roles.  I doubt he can count on the National Inquiror again to run stories about Hillary again.  Hillary is politically dead and none of the new crop of democratic candidates has the political baggage that Hillary did.   Trump claimed the economy is the best in the world and that the US is a net energy exporter.  This is news.  If this is the case why does the price of a barrel of oil continue so high?  Obviously Trump lies with every breath just like FOX news tells lies with every utterance and their fans accept it as though they were listening to a Bible recitation in church.

Norman Goldman is going off the air in two weeks.  He won't be around to see the downfall of President Trump.  A lot of us will die of old age waiting for the end of the Republican reign of terror that they've had since 2001.  All of the conservative hosts hang around forever such as Larry Elder, Shawn Hannity, Rush Limbaugh.  Dennis Prager,  James Dobson et all.   Compare this to liberals who are fleeting.  We have Randy Rhodes and Norman Goldman, and Ed Schultz, Johnny Wendell, Mike Meloy and whoever.  Nicole Sandler was an RR fill-in.  On the left they're here today and gone tomorrow.  Financial considerations dictated that Goldman leave the air waves.

Last night on Jeopardy they talked about various mathematical constants.  The one we’re most familiar with is Napier’s constant.  Isn’t he the guy who invented the slide rule?  Anyhow it’s the Base E number of 2.718 or whatever.   There is a more complex way of writing the formula to calculate than the one I use in a BASIC program.  It is x + x and then plus x over one half and then one sixth and then 1/24th and then plus 1/120 or whatever and it’s the N! function carried out on the calculator going up by one to infinity each time adding a tiny sliver.   There is also the famous “hatch back” equation where x dips down to blow zero to negative infinity and flattens out to the right.  I have a formula I’ve never quite reduced down to where if exponent and base number are reasonably close in ratio like two or less, the Base number is close to Base E but as the ratio between number and exponent increases the base line gets lower and lower.

It dawned on me that when I talked about hyperspace I said that there was no Time in hyperspace.  This needn’t be so.  This is because there are still gravitons or higgs bozons in this space made up of massless “matter’ alias bozons.  Of course this isn’t affected by gravity, but then again when you’re floating free in space you aren’t affected by gravity either but there is still Time.  In fact time actually travels a little quicker in pure weightlessness.

I actually fell asleep before the State of the Union address.  Maybe they need to scale back my medication.  I got the iron pill from Jan around ten to five.  The first thing I remember was President Trump introducing a rocket guy to applause and he said they were United States rockets.  Then there was a whole series of bragidocious statements that went on for another fifteen minutes or so.  He bragged about the llow unemployment rate and the job additions and more Blacks and women are employed than ever before and wages have risen.  There was a whole delegation of women and white and they applauded and Trump said we have more women in congress than ever before.  It almost looked like the women were honoring Trump.   Much of the applause was punctuated with chants of “U S A”.   It was very spirited cheering.  Then the president launched into a fifteen minute rant about the border and the need for security.  He also said that the cities of San Diego and El Paso used to be the most dangerous cities to live in and now these two cities are among the safest cities and the border crossings are all but eliminated.  He would move from topic to topic very quickly with no transition, almost in mid sentence.  He went and talked about the economy and terriffs and how industrial espionage involving China has all but been eliminated.  Of course he failed to say that the trade deficit itself is now worse than ever before.  He talked about the tax cut for rich people.  He said the automotive and other manufacturing segments were “back”.  (Improved)  He then began talking about cracking down on drug industry prices and the opioid epidemic of deaths.  Nobody could disagree with these things.  He never talked about guns and weapons polliferation and he never talked about the government shut-down either in the past or future tense.  It’s as though the problem didn’t exist.  He talked about childhood cancer and AIDS research.  Finally he made his way to foreign affairs and talked about the Ronald Reagan nuclear treaty that the president blew up last week because Russia had been consistently violating it.  He talked about negotiating with Afghanistan to end the longest war in United States history and said “We have finally militarily gotten to the place where we can negotiate”.   He then launched into a tyrade against Iran.  He then talked about anti-Semetism and the synagogue that was attacked last fall and personal stories.  Of course all through the address he introduced various guests but I never saw that eleven year old boy that was bullied for having the name of Trump.  He then talked about stuff from World War II and the liberation of German death camps.  He closed with some generalizations about America and his hopes for the future.  Whoever the script writer was, they used all of the right words.  The speech lasted at least an hour and twenty minutes- - maybe longer.  At 7:30 I went out for a smoke and talked to Dorthey.  Trump talked about Venezuela and how he feared that the democrats wanted to advance a socialist agenda for America.  “We will never be a socialist nation” to thunderous applause.  The President also warned that none of this legislative agenda will be dealt with as long as the House cares to investigate the president.  Trump warns “You can’t have war and investigation”.   Was he saying that if they investigate him in any way when he’s declaring war on congress?   Nancy went in and I left Dorthey to go get my medication from Jan.  I mentioned the speech to Jan.  “I’ll listen to it later on tape”.   Then I hurried and caught most of the democratic response.  Her speech was only about ten minutes.  I didn’t get in on the beginning of it.  She shared a lot of personal material about herself.  She spoke quickly as if under some sort of time constraint.  The commentators didn’t have much time to get in their own remarks because they apparently had to beat an eight o clock deadline.   NCIS wasn’t on so I switched to “The Flash” and whatever program was on at nine on KTLA.

Patriots Win Superbowl- - Again

Yesterday was the worst Super Bowl ever.  The Rams only scored three points the entire game and that came tword the end of the third quarter tying the score up at 3 to 3.   The game was so boring I fell asleep during the fourth quarter and missed the lone Patriots touchdown.  But I was alert during the final few minutes when the Patriots had to decide whether to hold on to the ball and make one yard on fourth down or else kick the field goal and put the game out of reach 13 to 3.  They kicked the field goal and the Rams failed.  The halftime show had too many visual effects and not enough tallent.  Now the Patriots have won six superbowls out of the nine games they've been in since 2001.

.The employment numbers are bogus.  They claimed we added over three hundred thousand jobs in the month of January.  This would be a very robust rate.  The unemployment figure itself went up to 4.0 percent.  My guess is that we'll never see 3.7% again.  Trump accused Obama of putting out bogus employment numbers.  I say that Trump's figures are bogus.

Thom Hartman was talking about Calvinism yesterday.  The Calvary Chapels use the adage of Dr Phil of “the best prediction of future actions is past action”.   The Calvary people change that to “The best indication of future success is past success” and if you don’t have some sort of success “track record” they won’t trust you.  I found this out in 1980 when I had the twin whammys of looking for an account job and also trying to get success on my book.  If you don’t have “the favor of the Lord” then they won’t trust you.  Hartman says that rich people can be trusted as a ruler of the people because they’re already successful.  This may explain the conservative’s embrace of President Trump and cause even people like Judy to make excuse after excuse for the President’s action.   Other Dr Phil phrases are one I change to “You don’t miss church; you miss what you wish church was”.   And the other key phrase is “How’s that working for you”.   Some of Dr Phil’s catch phrases are lethal weapons in the hand of the opposition against evangelicals in ways he never intended.  But I’m not sure whether Calvin himself had this “benign neglect” doctrine of the poor and down and out.  From what I know of Calvin, he wanted to raise the living standards and environment of everybody.

I turned on Joel Olsteen at five thirty and I didn’t like his topic of not comparing yourself to others who have had successes in their lives.  I think this “Don’t compare yourself to others” is one of the biggest lies spawned in the pit of Hell.  It’s not just the other person but in my case it’s people like Paul and Judy and parents that are the “Samuels” in my life out there wagging their long fingers.  We all bring our own backgrounds to a speech we listen to.

This whole case with Democratic Virginia Ralph Northam is political correctness gone amuck.  He had a picture in a college yearbook of a guy in black face and next to him was a guy in a KKK uniform.  OK it’s a little stupid but it isn’t a criminal offence.  He was in his early twenties at the time and this was back in 1984.  He’s apologized profusely for the offence but these political correctness people are out for blood and want him to resign.  He was duly elected and if they felt this way they should have brought it up during the campaign.  It’s the guy’s abortion stance that is much more suspect.  He believes in “post birth” abortions where a baby is born at 23 weeks and is alive and then “There can be a conversation between the mother and her doctor as to whether to kill the baby or not”.  That line is more than a little sick.  There is this whole fast scroll of democratic names they had of people specifying that this governor needs to resign now.  The only two names that were not on the list were former president Obama, who seems to back off from these conversations about race that crop up, and the other one is the liutennant governor of Virginia who would take his place.  This is a 39 year old Black man and the media wasted no time in saying what a bright political carrier he had, possibly at his superior’s expense.  This “zero tolerance” bit doesn’t work for weapons (such as plastic knives to spread your cream cheese at lunch) or for drugs, and it doesn’t work for this case either.

I’m too cowed by the Patriots to bet money on this game.  As you know my rule for betting goes that you bet favorites for football and long shots for horse racing.  There is just so much stuff in the news about that an indomitable guy Thom Brady is and how at age 41 there is just no end in sight to his string of successes.  He’s been in nine super bowls and apparently has already won five times.  That has to be an all time record.  They mention how he was drafted in the tenth round or something and given a low ranking his first year.  But then the quarterback they had got injured and Tom Brady filled in in 2001 and he never looked back.  I don’t like it that President Trump is a backer of Brady.  Someone said that everyone in the country is routing for the LA Rams unless you’re either from New England, or St Louis, or New Orleans.

The only place in the Bible where it talks in any detail about heaven is the book of Revelation.  Of course the rest of Revelation where it describes all of the beasts as nations and such is allegory or imigry.  Therefore why isn’t the depiction of heaven just another “image” and not actual?  We hear about brides’ maids.  Normally the bride’s maids aren’t the ones getting married so if we analogise that out it means that the 144,000 aren’t “The Church” or the Bride of Christ but relegated to some perpetual subordinate status.  By the way 144,000 out of twenty million Jews isn’t that many.  The odds are against Israelis getting “saved” if that is their goal at being America’s sock puppet in the region.  Hasn’t Israel ever heard of “co dependency”?   This is where you constantly exist in someone else’s shadow.  The only place where the passage of time in heaven is mentioned is right before the blowing of the seven trumpets of judgement.  It says, “Then there was silence in heaven for what seemed like a half an hour”.   We still know very little about heaven or what they’ll be DOING for “ten thousand years” like the song says.  Of course we’re coming up on the Year of the Pig.  Why can’t we have Donald Trump as a giant stuffed pig to sacrifice in heaven and all of the members dine on barbecued pork?  This raises another issue of people invited to a “marriage feast” aren’t the ones getting married.  They are merely WATCHING the marriage of the Bride and Groom.  So in this case, who is the bride?
