You know, the odds of a bunch of any given song lyrics pointing to the same incident get slimmer the more examples you draw from. "Look to the summer of '75; all the world is going to come alive" by the Jefferson Starship is one. "With your long blonde hair and your eyes a blue" by the Beatles is another. "You know my name - look up the number" alludes to Zachery's first address adding up to fourteen, as the date of his birth add up to fourteen as to the letters Z A C H E R Y reduce to fourteen. (8 plus 6) There is what sounds like a train whispering "Brian Jones - Brian Jones" on the fifth track of the ninth studio Rolling Stones album in the US. Here are cases where with each quote you reduce the odds of the quote pointing to a comon event. In the next posting we will go into this "Zachery" stuff more if you're interested. My point is that Chuck Smith doesn't have any monopoly of prophetic "odds".
We still have political news. It seems that there is a Christian pastor of a mega church in Colorado Springs or some place that is on the verge of being outed. This pastor has the ear of President Bush and speaks to him frequently. Now a guy has come foreward and he claims to be armed with letters and taped conversations that prove a homosexual relation between this man and the Colorado Pastor. It may not be true but if it really occurred it will be another nail in the Republican's coffin. One more nail in the Republican's coffin is President Bush yesterday saying that he thinks Dolnald Rumsfeld is doing a "Fantastic Job". That's a pretty strong adjitive. What it has the effect of doing is to undercut the claims of every other Republican running trying to distance themselves from Donald Rumsfeld. Now they're stuck with him. This is just another area where in my oppinion the President goofed. The way things are going there may yet be other political surprises between now and Election day.
I wrote a line in a book I wrote in 1980 that a bird cannot fly without a left wing AND a right wing. Ballance is the key. The American public, like the PH in a human's blood stream, is constantly regulating itself to keep its ballance. I believe most people are basically good. Some people are temporarily misguided. There are a few people who appear to be evil with a heart of blackness. I really don't know what God will do with them. In the movie Twelve Angry Men, the more you whittled the jury down to those voting guilty- - the more irrational their reasons became. I believe this is the case with the conservatives in the United States. I believe there are still essentially reasonable people out there in "Jesus Land" in the red states. I have to confess that lately I'm come to look at them as sort of an alien race, but I know it isn't so. All they need to do is see the "heart" of President Bush for what it is. It isn't that Bush is a bad man. He just lacked the social maturety required of a man who is to be elected President of the United States, and we are all paying the price.

There. Don't you people feel a whole lot smarter now? Now let's get onto politics. You know how dirty this campaign has gotten. The latest news is that George "Macacca" Allan used to beat up his brother and dangle his sister over Niagara Falls threatening to drop her. Just yesterday his goons smashed a young student's head into a plate glass window because he asked an embarrassing question at a campaign rally. Maybe we need a Proposition "58" for abusive political candidates. "He is the nasty one - Christ, you're infernal" There is a lot of "nasty" stuff going down. You have Rush Limbaugh still standing by his statement that he will not apologise to Michael J Fox for his remarks about him the other day on his show. When you mock the handicapped you're sinking to a new low level. Rush Limbaugh is a person now who totally disgusts me. Sometimes it's hard to believe I listened to him all those years. He's just a sex starved viagara popping drug taking blowhard, who can't get a fact right and forever is making wrong predictions. Of course you have that Black senatorial candidate in Tennessee accused of hanging around Playboy girls, appealing to the most primal racist fears of a southern state like Tennessee. You have this otterly obsurd attack on John Kerry. Appearently Kerry forgot to put in the word "Us" in a joke written by someone else and it change its meaning and Kerry knew right away he had stepped in it. I just thought Kerry was living in a time warp when they still had a draft and student deferments. Kerry is coming out swinging now and I salute that. We need more democrats willing to go on the offencive. We need "God on our side" for a change. I'm tired of God working only for the right. If Chuck Smith ran the world things would be a whole lot worse than it even is under George Bush. After all Chuck Smith is a more grandious person than the current President, not to mention a bigger imagination. You know that joke, "I intend to prosecute you to the fullest extent of my imagination" and no, Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald wasn't the one that said that - Michael Kelso was. Chuck Smith's credo is "It's all going to burn!". Chuck Smith is a nehilist in the tradition of Jim Jones, and having him as President would truely be going from the frying pan into the fire.
My best prediction about the election is that democrats will pick up a lot of governorships. But they'll also win 35 to 40 house seats - way more than enough to take control. I predict they will win five seats in the senate. The Republicans will have to keep Dick Chaney in Washington to cast all of those tie breaker votes. Even if the Democrats miss control right now- - there is still hope. Two things could happen. Either a Republican could switch to the Democratic Party. You know, in the tradition of that Jeffers fellow, to give democrats control of the Senate. Either that or there could be a sudden unexpected death and the democrats will win the now vacant seat. There are still people who don't listen to Air America. When they finally see the light, they too will be filled with revulsion against the conservatives. Who would guess that Lynne Chaney writes pornography. She wrote a lezbian western love story with stuff like menstral blood mentioned. Many conservatives have taken to writing pornography- even John Erlichman. Others who write it are Bill O Riley and Scudder Libby. There is this whole "closet world" conservatives don't talk about. You wonder what fundamentalist pastors think of all this smut. The way I see it they can take one of two positions. Either they say it's OUR people doing it so that makes it all right- - OR what they'll do is call all this pornographic stuff sick, but then Transfer The Guilt onto their own hen pecked congragation kind of in the tradition of Carrie's mother in the Carrie novel by Stephen King. That's what they do. They give sermons about all the depraved "Holy men and women of the Bible" and transfer the guilt for those sins onto their own congragations. (Selah)
John Lennon praised Jesus Christ as an admerable fellow, but then said that his followers were rather "thick" and "didn't get it". The words of Jesus are tollerated in the Bible but nobody listens to them. In like matter, the words of St. Paul are often cast in a certain scarlet light to make them appear more damning then they are. I have been in search of a God who isn't just an extension of the Pastor's own Ego. I can't say I've found that. Not unless we trot the Orion Federation around the track one more time. People are looking for Devine virtues and not finding them.

There are numerous events of moral perpitude the Bush adminestration and the Republicans are guilty of. Knowing this I was disappointed to hear that future House speaker Nancy Palosi has made a "No Impeachment" promise. We shouldn't let the other side know what we will or will not do. It's silly to make such a pledge because violating it will only further extra criticisum. It would seem with the first lady Speaker of the House, we really don't need a woman president as well. Senator OBama is a logical choice to channel our energies to. He's a guy who everyone seems to like and he doesn't have Hillary Clinton's extensive political baggage. It is pointed out that by the time 2008 rolls around, OBama will be older than either Clinton or John Kennedy were.
There are still problems with the economy. I clearly do not understand the stock market's breaking of all time records. It seems the problem with the Real Estate "bubble" is that many people were suckered into these gosh awful flexible rate Mortgages and so as intrest rates climb, as they will continue to as deficets get worse, more and more people will fine that can't afford to live in the home they just bought a few years ago and so many of these are putting their homes in the market and panicking when they don't sell right away. According to Randy Rhodes, real incomes have dropped another two percent just since 2004. Unlike what Dennis Haster says, people earning forty thousand dollars a year don't pay "No taxes". Apparently the number of people without health insurance is continuing to rise, too, and for those who have it it isn't cheap. In general, prices now are about ten times what they were fifty years ago on a number of key items, though the government won't admit this.
You still have these scandals floating around like John Dulittle running against Charles Brown, and Brown has charge Dulittle and Tom Delay of blocking bills to stop the sweat shop conditions in the Marianas (?) Islands. Apparently there are still big corporations that want to have that Made in America tag on their product, which was actually produced under sweatshop comditions. Worker's pensions are in jeopardy as companies increasingly renig on their promises to their employees. It is said that the local news is even being outsourced. The LA Times is now hiring advertizing artists from India. The National News has an increasing fluff content. Hard news is wrapped up in the first fifteen minutes and the rest is filler. The celebrety news easily has to be five times what it was three decades ago.
The big news of the day is that George Bush is now no longer going to use the phrase "Stay the Course". Bush now claims that he has never used the phrase in the past. "It's never been about Stay the Course", he insists. I have to wonder what someone like Larry Elder thinks of his president actually making plans to get out of the Iraq War. It hardly fits in with the oft repeated cliche that we could be in Iraq for ten or more years. Clearly President Bush is only making promises to pressure the Iraq government and make provisions for our leaving, because he is so politically desperate and is running around like a chicken with its head cut off. All of that "Cut and run" rhetoric we've heard from people like Larry Elder is fast turning into a bad joke. We can't believe Bush any more about Iraq than we can about anything else.
Of course there is a scandal of graft and corruption by Iraqi officials wasting Billions of our dollars we have sent them. There seems to be no accountability and nobody seems to care. Of course we're giving the drug companies billions because of that drug bill that was passed a couple of years ago that was basically welfare as much or more for the drug companies than it is for the recipiants. Of course there is legondary waste and squandering of funds by local officials who received Homeland Securety money. But politics being what they are it's all these back-woods cities that are receiving the money where threats to the national securety is minimal. Still- if we give them money they'll find SOME way to spend it. Larry Elder says the deficet doesn't really matter now and "It's not as bad as it was under Reagan". I guess that's supposed to make us feel better. One "libertarian" on KTLK advises in favor of divided government like we had under Clinton and Eisenhaur because Bill Clinton and Dwight Eisenhaur has the most frugal spending habbits of any Presidents in the past seventy years. In my writings I have often tagged President Clinton as "The Eisenhaur of the ninties".
Perhaps the biggest instance of "Moral Perpitude" is this whole situation in Darfore, or however you spell it. In the western Sudan near the Chad boarder, racial genocide is worse than it's ever been and over two hundred thousand are dead with no sign of stopping. But what I didn't know till last Sunday on Sixty Minutes is that our government is turning a blind eye to the genocide in exchange for "valuable information on Bil Laden and other Al Qaida members". Last I heard Bn Laden is still at large. I can't believe we have sold our moral soul as a nation in exchange for something that isn't even real. So much of our foreign policy seems to consist of "Sleeping with the devil". We cozy up to the Saudis but why? As the adds here say, "We spend money for their oil and they burn our flag". Larry Elder of course doesn't think genocide is really that big of a thing, because our national securety isn't at stake. Larry is against wars fought for humanitarian purposes. I have to strenuously disagree. A lot of "real conservatives" are getting fed up with George Bush because he seems to be a man without a moral compus.
People say "We get the government we deserve". I was just wondering. Do we get the God we deserve. The thought hit me on the street a couple nights back "What is the mind of God is really our collective Unconscious" like Carl Jung say? This is to say that even though our life on earth is predestined, perhaps the Collective Unconscious predestined it. It's clear that when we die we will not go to some new Disneyland of bliss. Instead we will return to whatever state we were in before we were born. Since there is no time as we know it there it's hard to imagine what existance is like there because "there" isn't anywhere- - because Space as we know it doesn't exist there, either. If you think about it- - among the things that cease to exist when this Universe destroys itself twelve billion years out are Matter- - Life- - - but also Death. Not even Death as we know it will exist in that Eternal age. Because in order to be Dead, it's implied you once had to live. Either that or there is some Thing that is no longer capable of metablizing and relating to other Things, as Time itself passes. But if there is no time and no "Things" to exist or nor exist- - then it can be said that what awaits us is something other than "Death as we know it". Many scientists have hinted that the collective consciousness is what created the Universe. Personally, I don't know how you'd go about proving it. They say that man was made in the Image of God. I have never completely understood that scripture. How do we, is it possible, to tap into this Eternal God timeless existance nature being in order to solve our problems here on planet earth. We need some sort of new Divine revelation. But I don't think we're going to get it. Some say "It's up to us to make up our Own Divine Revelations". Hummm. I'd take that notion and study it further.

Randy Rhodes the other day has a Christian pastor on. We know Bush hasn't been straight with members of the Born Again community. He made promises to them he didn't keep concerning eight billion dollars to the poor and other "faith" causes. Nobody should be surprised about Bush turning out to be a liar. They say that Karl Rove is a non-believer anyhow. It is said that we don't have to keep the ten commandments today because the book of Galations in the Bible gives us a pass and that "The Law" was "nailed to the cross". That book got included in the Bible the same reason "turn the other cheek" and "Prince of peace" got in the Bible. Both the Paul and Jesus remarks had anti-semitisum as their modas opperandi. There was so much of the New Testament that seems to have been included merely because it was a way of sticking it to the Jews. I'm not against morality; I'm in favor of morality. My beef against the Christian religion has little to do with morality per se, but a lot of other stuff I don't care to dealve into. Randy Rhodes says she is a Christian. If that is so maybe she can write a treaties on the subject, just like Marcion did. And then the Catholic Church can burn it. I think the whole "Christian Right" has about as much good karma as Samantha Brady and Lexi Carver, at this point.
News Flash: I just heard that Wierd Al Yankivich commited suicide by blowing his brains out. I never heard that before and I hope it isn't true.
What we need in this country is some tranquility in government. But we won't get that untill Carrie Brady gets her revenge. No, that's not right. Untill we fully investigate president Bush and he is made to account for all his crimes one way or the other. Impeachment seems out of the question with Dick Chaney waiting in the wings. But there would seem a lot of ways to make the last two years for President Bush mighty unpleasent. You know, a year ago Arnold Swartzenegger was in big trouble after his ballot measures failed - all four of them. But the Governater took a hint and got his act together and in his next January message gave perhaps the most liberal State of the State message since Pat Brown. It was refreshing to hear. I don't see what would prevent George Bush from "getting religion". It's contrary to his nature as an invetterate liar and stubbornness to the point of irrationality, but perhaps if he prays to whatever God he worships, he'll get some answers.

You know there are micro things and there are macro things. Some people become obcessed with the micro at the expense of the macro. Have you noticed that some things look very irregular when blown up into the micro but look symmetrical and artistic in the macro? The crop circles of the early 1990’s were like this. You can only appreciate them from the air. I suppose some things are the other way around. You can take some weird organic compound - - poly-glycol something, and when you blow it up it reduces to these tinker toy things you do in chemistry class. Not quite. Dennis Prager, strangely has said that certain values in the micro that are seen as admirable, are downright dangerous in the macro, or big scale. Turning the other cheek is one. Often Sue and Johnny are arguing or hitting each other in the back seat- - and the parent turns around and one of the kids says “He started it” and the parent says, “It doesn’t matter who started it- - I want the commotion to cease right now” Often in institutions with kids, the people in charge engage in corporate punishment. They punish the whole group because of the actions of one kid. Prisons and military bases are known to use this method, and it’s supposed to stimulate group pier pressure to conform. I wouldn’t guarantee it works out that way every time. Often Christians are told- - a la that Devo song that “It’s a God-given law, that you can’t get pissed”. It’s seen as a holy, beautiful thing never to get annoyed by anybody or anything. And if you offend someone and it’s really their fault to begin with, the Christian thing to do is assume all the blame yourself. And if you see a pan handeler on the street and pass him by without giving, it’s seen as a sin. Yet as we have said in the “Ditikee” or Christian handbook- - you are commanded there to be tight with a buck, and suspicious of the motives of all. And at the same time you are told that Trust is the highest attribute you can have tword God, which we all really know is trusting your pastor. I wonder how Jesus Christ would stack up against the standards “expected” of Christians today? Are you going to tell me that Jesus was never impatient with somebody or ever tired or cross with people?

There are so many surveys out now. Now they’re telling us that people who drink earn more money than people who don’t. Of course there those who say statistics say- - a family that prays at the dinner table is a more stable one. Now they are claiming that people who chew gum are more intelligent. A lot of people use statistics that are not scientific. The other day I read an excellent treaties on why Creationism should not be taught in the schools. You should read it. Just go to ffrf.org and enter “Creationism in the classroom” and you’ll get it. People forget that science is a discipline.

Some people say that Beauty is Truth. Of course Google lets you know in rectangles when you have arrived at a golden section. Some say that beauty is actually the average of say sixteen women’s faces melded into one. There is some statistical figure that when you hit about the number sixteen, that’s it. Here’s a question. Would you rather cash a check where yours is the only name on the back or would you rather cash a check with ten endourcements? You really are claiming to stand behind a check when you endource it. If there are ten names those are ten people you can pass the hot potato to trying to come up with someone who will back the check.
Al Frankin was talking about Bob Woodward saying “ra-porter”. I don’t think he ever said that. Al just has a hyper-sensitive ear. He does kind of hesitate in syllables.
Proposition ninety ads have come out and they’re all against the proposition with the heaviest dirty tricks and deception you’ve seen. A lot of propositions in the past have been advertised with deception but this goes the limit. They point to all these groups that are against the proposition including homeowners groups and small businesses and environmental groups. I simply don’t believe it. I’ve reread the facts and all the proposition is out for is to give the little fellow a fair shake, and that’s what’s got them all upset. We can vote ourselves equity and they can’t stand it.

Owning the Image: The parents of Ron Goldman are seeking to "own" the image of OJ Simpson and everything assotiated with him. I say, "More power to them". Once you commit murder and then are not exicuted for the crime, the least that can be done is to let the victims decide what happens to your life, including your image and signature. I don't know what sort of karma OJ Simpson has that has enabled him to get by all these years with out paying for his bloody crime.
Some people's "life stories" seem to be bought out. The god Mithras was "the son of God" and born in a cave (as all the "experts" on the Christmas story insist Jesus was) and that he was born of a virgin. (Though some he say he was born out of a rock) His birth was attended by shepherds. There was a Roman Emperor named Aurelian who in 70 AD who made the cult of Sol Invictus or "Unconqured Son" into a nationally sanctioned religion to boost his and the national image. From this point on the elements of Mithras were adopted into this new religion. Even though this is true, the "secret" or germ of Christianity lies elsewhere, as we said in our previous posting. The Catholic Church has secrets it "guards with its life".
Mithra is not present in the Gathas of Zarathustra (Zoroaster) but appears in the younger Yashts of the Avesta (Campbell p 257). There, Mithra comes to the fore among the created beings. "I created him" Ahura Mazda declares to Zoroaster, "to be as worthy of sacrifice and as worthy of prayer as myself" (Campbell, loc. cit.). In the Yashts, Mithra gains the title of "Judge of Souls" and is assigned the domain of human welfare (which he shares with the Creator). Mithra occupies an intermediate position in the Zoroastrian hierarchy as the greatest of the yazata, created by Ahura Mazda (Ormuzd in later Persian) to aid in the destruction of evil and the administration of the world. He is then the divine representative of the Creator on earth, and is directed to protect the righteous from the demonic forces of Angra Mainyu (Ahriman in later Persian).

We all know that the ZAC says there are prophecies related to time of birth but no prophecies related to the place of birth. With Christianity it's the opposit. There are no prophecies related to the TIME of birth but ONLY to the PLACE of birth. After the first thing any "Superstar" has to do is establish himself as uniquely qualified to be what he is, the Messiah. We have the one source of Matthew to determine that Jesus was born just before the slaughter of the innocents by King Herod. Historians deny that such a slaughter ever occurred. (Count how many things DIDN'T occur) But in this way we are to believe that the messiah was to be born in Bethlehem but all of the rest were slaughtered by King Herod's order so Jesus being the only survivor, has to be the Messiah. Next we are told that Jesus was born during a Cencus of Rome ordered by Ceasar Agustus. There's one thing wrong with this. Historians say that the cencus did not involve pedigree or place of family oregen. So this is another of those things which NEVER OCCURRED. Next of course the Cencus that did occur was in six AD or about nine years after all that stuff with the stars discussed in Matthew. Next we are told the skies were ablaze with angels singing the glory of God and that the "near by" shepherds saw it. Well, if THEY saw it how come the thousands of people crouding into Bethlehem for the cencus didn't see it? Another thing that doesn't quite jive is Luke gives the Mother's liniage. The only thing is historians tell us the mother's liniage was NEVER considered at that time in genialogies. I was also told in Sunday school that if EITHER side of the family was from Bethlehem that that's where you went- - so this was a preferential site where EITHER decent from mother or father counted. Next we are told that Jesus lived the next thirty years in Nazareth growing in favor with man and God. The problem with this is that there is SLIGHT evidence that Jesus went to other places during this period but there is NO EVIDENCE from any non Biblical source that Jesus spent this time in Nazareth or that Jesus even EXISTED at all.
Next we are told that Jesus's ministry was connected with John the Baptist. There is NO historical evidence of this. On the contrary John the Baptist is always mentioned as a separate entity from Jesus by secular historians, if Jesus is mentioned at all. We are told that Judas offered the Sanhedren help in capturing Jesus and only with his help could they make an arrest. It's kind of an insult to law enfourcement to say they didn't know Jesus motions well since Jesus has been to Jerusalem many times. In fact the one thing they said was "We can't arrest him during Passover or any feast, because there will be a riot". We are told that the Jews "lost the power to carry out a death sentence" and that there was weeping in the streets when this occurred because it was believed the Messiah would come "before this happened". Historians now say that the Jews always had the power to carry out a death sentense and in no way was it necessary to involve Rome Next we are told that Pilate offered the people a choice between Jesus and Barrabus. Once again our game show buzzer sounds. There was NO SUCH historically recorded incident that Pontious Pilate ever did this, allowing his decisions to be put up to a vote. The funny thing is- - we are told here quite the opposit of what we read a few verses ago. NOW we are told the people were ready to riot because they WANTED to crusify Jesus and the people were resting Pilate. So in a very few days the crouds went from highly in favor of Jesus to strongly against him. We are told Pilate took a basen and washed his hands in sort of a Jewish ritual of blog innocence. Historians say it's dubious Pilate did this act.
We are to believe that after Jesus's resurrection the twelve apostles along with 120 others formed the first Christian Church. We are told the 120 were people "who had been in Jesus' ministry from the very beginning"? If that's so, where were they during the trial and crusifiction? We are told Jesus appeared to his brother, James and convirted him, as well as Jesus's other brothers such as Jude. None of the Gospells mention Jesus's appearences to his brothers. We are told by some "historians" that James was a High Priest and entered into the Holy of Holies in the Jewish Temple. Why would Jews pick a Christian to be High Priest? We are told that from the moment of his convirsion that St. Paul had instant access to the highest pillars of the Christian Church, such as James and Peter. We have Paul repeatedly confronting both these people and "telling them off" that they were just wrong about a lot of things. We have "The book of Acts" revolving around St. Paul, who apparently is never wrong. We have St. Paul writing the church at Rome, which he had never visited and there doesn't seem to be a way any Saints could BE in Rome yet, let alone form a Church. We are told of "Christians in Ceasar's household" and that St. Paul trusted Roman Justice over Jewish Justice any day of the week and so made repeated appeals to Ceasar. And who was "Ceasar" in those days? None other than mad man Nero himself! Finally we are to believe the fire in Rome or the persecution of Christians that occurred a very few years after the book of Acts concluds was- - - apparently just "not important enough to mention".
As we said in another blog, I don't even think the ministry of the Apostle Paul occurred this early. We are told that the Book of Revelation was written during the reign of the mad emperor Dometian from 81 to 96 AD. If this is true and if Dometian was "The Beast" then how come after he was conspired against and slain and shown to be mortal, that the author and readers of Revelation didn't say, "Well, back to the drawing board". How come the more you look for evidence of persecution during the time of Dometian the less you find- - of Christians. Dometian was a flake. There is no doubt about that. He was "completely balmy" as they say. No doubt about that. Dometian persecuted Jews with tax laws. That's a fact. But had Dometian ever even heard of Christianity? You really can't show from the evidence that he did. Emperor Trajan was two emperors later and Pliny the Younger wrote him a letter (or visa versa) suggesting that Christianity be persecuted for its own sake. If this was a new concept under Trajan, what was Christianity's status under Dometian? And why does the Catholic encyclopedia say that Dometian repented of his persecution of Christians, but refuse to give detales? What of that mystory early 2nd. century historian who says that Dometian made special provisions for the relatives of Jesus? Could it be that Paul lived in the time of Dometian and not in the time of Nero, and that Dometian became a closet Christian? Why has Christianity been so "Roman-centric" almost from the beginning?
Did Jesus have a daughter named Sarah, who was born after his death and at age twelve moved with relatives to the south of France? Was there a group of 'Illuminati" who were in Egypt who knew the secret identity of Jesus? Is this secret group of Illuminatti a group that almost from day one has been calling the tune with Christian doctrine? Was the ministry of the Apostle Paul much later than we've all supposed. If not, how come all his letters didn't become general knowledge till about 110 or 120 AD? Why did people like Marcion want to cannonize them almost immediately? How did St. Paul "Prove his apostleship" to begin with? These are questions that may never be answered. On the other hand, there may be a "smoking gun" out there, just waiting for historians to discover and put the pieces together.

Song lyrics from the Ziggy Stardust file
“And these children that you spit on –are quite aware of what they’re going through”
We will turn a blind eye to infanticide”
Today is June 7th. On this date, June 7th. 1971, it was on a dreary Monday afternoon, in a taped speech for the first time I used the term "Jesus Freaks" in a commentary of mine. I had resisted using the term up till then. I think I had just about "had enough" from my fundamentelest Christian friends. I remember my brother was boating with some richer people from Huntington Harbor the previous weekend and I was mad because I didn't get to go. It was about this time that my other brother played for me the album "Broken Baracades" by Procol Herem, and the title song was supposidly "about the Rapture", which at that time I had never heard of. This whole idea of a "rapture" of carrying off the "Elect" into Heaven while the rest of the planet went through some sort of great tribulation- - only dates to the latter part of the ninteenth century. It has no part of Classic Christian teaching. If I have it right the doctrine of the rapture was concocted by a guy named Darvey, and he was an offshoot of the Millerites. The Millerites were the group who predicted the world would come to an end in 1844. When it didn't they had to come up with another doctrine, hence the rapture was born.
NEWS DIGEST
Well, there are more deaths occurring in Iraq all the time and evidence of an all out Civil War is more than obvious now. We just have to decide what date we're going to pull out. * Now Bush is negotiating with the government of Iran. He didn't want to do that with Iraq, but now with Iran I guess President Bush doesn't want to engage in two major Wars at once. According to Ken Galliger, negotiating with Iran is the worst thing we could do because we're "Just giving them time to finish constructing their nucliar bomb". That is a thought. * Some terrorists were arrested in Canada with plans to blow up a lot of stuff. * Steve Wessley lost to Phill Angeletes in the California governor's race. I guess they want a candidate who's less than "green" and suddenly a little pollution isn't so bad. Swartzenegger will demolish Angeletes in November. * We've all heard the news that Brittany Speers has given up her Kabbala. Now she says, "My baby is my religion". That's kind of a scarey thought if it's true. There are some people who teach that the antichrist "Will not regard the desire of women". I always thought this meant the antichrist would be a homosexual, but the "experts" say what this means is that every woman in Israel desired to be the mother of the Messiah, and so every mother with a new born son was thinking in her mind, "This child could be the Messiah".
PORNOGRAPHIC PRIESTESS
I don't know if anyone has put forth the proposition that the antichrist could be a woman but I have a candidate for the job. Yesterday I was doing research and used a hitherto unused search method and got results I never got before. Did you know that Christianity has suffered the equivelent of a Nucliar Attack in the spirit realm and nobody has reported it. If the Da Vinci Code secret is equivelent to a 3.1 on the rictor scale- - the thing I'm talking about is equivelent to a 9.9 on the rictor scale. I'm talking about a "Christian" who is so evil and depraved I had to make sure he was actually dead now. Since this mystery individual of mine is and has been routinely ignored by the media I only heard about his death (prior to yesterday) from once source, Paul Harvey, one fleeting time. I had to "stand over his grave and make sure he's dead". So you're wondering where the whole Pornographic Priestess thing comes in. Prior to yesterday my knowledge of this individual kind of faded out about 1999 or 2000. In the late 1990's I had three candidates for Antichrist. Willy Brown, Bill Handel, and this mystory individual. I say Christianity has suffered a Nuclear Attack of the spirit because the entire Christian Church is covering up for this "greatest teacher of our time" and not saying word one about his evil deeds. Never let it be said Christians don't protect their own, even if it ammounts to spiritual suicide. I'd like to think he's dead rotting in his grave now. First of all "Teresa Crane" is still "In the World" but she ain't giving no interviews to nobody. You know, if you're evil enough your evil can influence people even beyond the grave, and that is the case with this individual, like I say with the Pornographic Pristess, whom we code name "Teresa Crane" at the helm. We're going to say more about this but first I'd like to do a little song lyric written vaguely to the tune of "Who's Driving Your Plane" by the Rolling Stones.
Well you know you do your Preaching -
- With your pornographic teaching
And the go go girls are driving me Insane
And your perevacated Gospell - - Just as riddled as a waffel
Just like spikes boring into my brain
And your mis applicated constructs
And your Reverential con sucks!
And you do it just for monitary Gain!
But who's feeding your brain
Is Satan feeding your brain
Is there anything in your brain
I wanna know - who's feeding your brain
Is it some
Or the ghost of your Mother
Or is it all just Completely Insane!
Well you're singing your songs - and enthralling the throngs
with things of which there'll never be Proof!
Well you talk about trust –
- while grinding our bodies into the dust
Just once- - can't you ever speak the Truth - !
Is your "Holy Seed dispersion" - - - from an actual living Person
Or just a "confederated" myth of John Wilkes booth?
Well who's feeding your brain
Who's feeding your brain
Who's jiving your brain
Who's - draining your brain
Well, is it something from reality
or just some Holy "Ghost"
Like something just uh creeping Under-Ground!
Well somewhere back on the Istmas - - [He] is thinking about Christmas
To him it always reminds him of of Elvis
You know he really'd like to nail her
Like Private Elvis is back in the trailer
With a shrine dedicated to his mother's pelvis
On Saturday Night he goes to town - - and the passes are painted brown
But I'm wondering - - - yes I'm really wondering
Who's feeding your brain
I said- - Who's feeding your brain
Who's pickeling your brain
Who's drugging your brain
Well I saw your girlfriend, Anita
while she was eating a Peta
And she says you have really gone In-Sane!

A lot has changed in thirty years. The Anaheim Mall was just newly completed in 1976. That is, it was an all covered-over mall. But as you know after 1992 they tore it down and put up those garish looking "amusement park ride" color buildings in its place. The rate at which they put up buildings and almost as quickly blow them up never ceases to amaze me. Oddly, Cypress College was "not finished" in 1976 and so they put up temporary railings on their massive concrete upper walk ways- - to be completed at a later date. Guess what? They have not put up a single new building since 1976. Back in the fall of 1976 I was attending some socialogy class or something and they showed a VCR tape on TV (relatively new in those days) and on that tape they made the starteling announcement that the median price of a home in Orange County was now eighty thousand dollars. The median line was the Newport Freeway. Everything to one side was cheaper and everything on the other side was more expensive. Of course now you know what people mean when they say "South County". "South" was alltogether different in those days. Back then places such as Tustin, Huntington Beach, or Costa Mesa qualified as "South County". One time we were with a friend of ours named John, who put up houses for a living. And we were touring one of the new tracts in Laguna Niguel. Back then it was out in the middle of nowhere- - but that Zigarat building thing was still there, in the valley. Back in 1976 they had the Susan B Anthony dollar nobody used. I don't know why. There was a roomer prior to 1976 that the coin was a gigantic conspiricy to raise the price of a sandwich in a vending machine to one dollar. Of course they ran KFC adds ("Fried" wasn't a dirty word then) that said "Corn and cluck for under a buck" and Mac Donalds had one "Get a Big Mack, fries and Coke and get change back from your dollar". Actually the Susan B Anthony "dollar" would be worth about four of the Sacaguia (?) dollars of today. Today's coin dollar would only have been worth about a quarter in 1976. I never voted for Jimmy Carter. I didn't vote for him in June 8th. (?) primary, and I voted for Ford in the general election. Something to me seemed a little fake or wishy-washy about Jimmy Carter.
It was a day or two after that June primary election that Charlie L. died of a drug overdose. I remember Larry Lawsen making light of it saying "Cheer up. The sun is shining, the corn is high and the birds are singing". (We were actually growing corn in the back yard then) Back then all the "Marinotha" or "Christian" music sounded like the Eagles or Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Back then disco was the devil's music. Back then it was shiek to be for Jimmy Carter because he was a "Christian" who was running for office. But in general it wasn't "shiek" to be political much at all. Christians were "above petty politics". How different things are today where George Bush, clinging to a political life preserver, is reaching out for the Christian right vote on areas such as gay marriage and flag burning.
Of course back in the mid seventies like 1974, 1075, or 1976 I was still using almost entirely reel to reel tape. One of my brothers had an expensive sound system in his trailer and I thought it silly that you would treat a cassette as a high fadelity tape because it clearly didn't sound as good. Back in the mid seventies of course they had "Quad" or quadraphonic. They had two types. They had descrete, and something called "SQ" that Columbia put out. One time my brother was playing "Third Degree" by West Bruce & Lang in quad- - - and I remember it was a longer fade-out on the end part than on the regular version. I remember Mike Mc Kinnon one of these times saying how much greated "Yes" was than "Emerson Lake and Palmer". Hey- - do you want an old myth demolished? Remember how the Beatles have "Revolution One" and supposidly the "slow version" was the first version they recorded and then George Martin or somebody convinced them to speed it up and put out a faster version. Well, that's a myth. Because one of the very earliest demos of the song recorded in George Harrison's livingroom back in the spring of 1968 and it was a recording of the song- played fast- where they were just then coming up with the lyrics to the song. My uncle used to have a joke saying "I never let the Truth get in the way of a good story". Next we'll learn that Marcion had the "origional" version of the gospell of Luke and it's the Church that changed it - not visa versa.
Just think how old anyone who was alive in 1976 has to be now. For a woman to even admit to being alive then is admitting a lot. I think life was better back then. There were no cell phones to constantly interrupt you. They had no personal computers. The only computer you could even posess in 1976 was an Apple I that you built yourself from a kit. Back then you could actually watch basketball playoffs in free TV, unlike today. Back then Monday Night Football was actually on free TV. In fact it wasn't all that long ago that Cable was considered some kind of a commie conspiracy- - and Free TV was as American as Apple Pie. Back then you didn't have to go broke in order to buy a home. Since 1973 the wage earning power of the US worker has steadily dropped. 1976 was indeed "The good old days". The rich wern't as rich then but there was more for the rest of us. Tax rates for the rich were 70%. Sports figures and CEO's wern't paid nearly as much but people had more of a heart. Service was more personal and people were definitely more polite. It's something to think about on this six-six-six day.

Immigration may be another area where conservatives on the right are fighting a losing battle. They used to have about five hundred aliens storm the gates near San Diego all at once knowing they couldn't catch all of them. This was an embarrasment to the Clinton adminestration and so now they have all the major cities fences off and the aliens have to trek through the desert and about 540 have died out there in the past year. And when they tried to round up illegal aliens in Iowa at a meat packing plant they drove the plant out of business and neighboring state Nebraska said to the feds, "Don't impose your rules in our state". This illegal aliens problem may have advanced to the state where nothing can be done about it.
Of course now Bush is doing these "signing statement" adendums to bills. That means he won't veto a bill; he'll sign it but he'll also write out a provision as to what he think the bill actually means. So when torture of POW's is banned, Bush will simply exempt himself. Just recently the pentagon deleted some language from an army manual having to do with humane treatment of POW's. Now I guess you're free to torture. Bush has done more of these signing addendums to bills- - twice as many as all other presidents of the US combined. I guess the trend began under Ronald Reagan but has gotten worse and worse over the years. Now the Bush adminestration is refusing to prosecute doctors who illegally give out information about their patients violating the doctor-patient confidence. I think what the next Democrat needs to do is just point to the constitution and say "These are our guidelines and they won't be violated". Just say "We won't have secret torture. We won't hold people illegally without charging them, and we won't wiretap without a warrent". Let's just keep our fingers crossed.
The Iraq War is coming along miserably now. Clearly we are in an escalating Civil War and are unable to stop it- - even if we had twice as many troops. Clearly the government is not as stable as I, for one, thought it was. Things are not "stabelizing" but constantly getting worse. The violence is escalating and spreading to other areas. Basically the Iraq War has been the centerpiece of the eight year Bush adminestration. As John Kerry says, "It's not a record to run on; it's a record to run from". You can "think good thoughts" but reporters are still getting killed. I would personally like to say to the leader of Iran, "The President's popularity in this country has nothing to do with the morality of what you're doing over there". It would be really nice if we got more moral support from Europe, but of course we won't.
I still haven't seen "An Inconvienient Truth" but two of the most shocking scenes are that "The snows of Mt. Killemonjero" are all but disappeared now. Also there is a glature in southern Argentina that has all but melted now, like a Simpson's cartoon. When the ten hottest years of all time are within the last fourteen years, it's hard to argue that Global Warming is not taking place. But of course Conservatives do. They won't admit they're wrong because this is too much of a sacred issue with them. It's one of the corner stones of their Belief system. "Industry is good; Government regulation is bad". My only complaint is that I looked up the movie schedule in this area on the internet and I didn't see the Gore movie listed anywhere.
Christianity too is changing with the times. Billy Graham is likely to kick the bucket any day now and Franklin Graham doesn't have the carisma of his father to attract new people. These Billy Graham crusades have turned into news magazines talking about world events. You have to water the gospell down to make it pallitable to today's pallette. Religion should be, I suppose like fine wine. It contains alcohol, yes, but it also contains the juice of the grape. I am like a person who has drunk of the straight distilled religion and it's not palletable. Religion was never meant to be drunk straight. I suppose pure distilled religion would be the Jesus Christ show on KFI. Religion being drudgery, tedious, boring, and without inspiration. I look at role models and I would not care to model my actions after any Born Again pastor. Some may say "Well, you can both fellowship in the idea you both hate gays". That's not true. First of all I don't hate gays- - it's just that gayness profanes the whole concept of marriage. Although in my case it might as well have been "Adam and Steve" and not "Adam and Eve" because my experiance is "dating the opposit sex" is kind of a "gateway sin" that leads to worse sins, in the same way that marijuana is a gateway drug. Just a few months ago I expressed intrest in a Christian female and her response was "I don't date". Unless God told you she's the one you're destined to marry, about all romantic contact with the opposit sex is outside their law. The only way to make a Christian pastor happy if you're single is to be utterly asexual. But like I say I would not even want to pattern my life after these shallow, frightened, neurotic, pathetic people. I have seen no role model for myself in the church.
It is said the reason why we need blood atonement for our sins is because we have all sinned ans "come short of the glory of God" I don't know anyone on the planet who remained a Christian for as long as I did with so little in return. If I don't have the "faith" to believe- - nobody does. Faith in the first place is "The substance of things hoped for". I don't have this. Some say "No, faith is being trustworthy and faithful to a relationship you have with someone". The trouble is there is no "evidence" that God and I have ever had a "relationship" Shockingly I could not model myself after Jesus Christ, either. Jesus did not become God because he was perfect, he was ruled perfect because he was already declaired God. I believe in the golden rule. If Jesus believed in it too he would physically heal everyone in the world of their deseases and malodies. This hasn't happened. Jesus felt free to openly criticize religious people in high places in a way you or I would never dream of doing making all sorts of accusations against them. If you or I were today to engage in the same behavior as Jesus did we'd be locked up, perhaps in a psycho ward. Jesus lived thirty years in an ordenary life minding his own business. I didn't do that because I became a Christian at age twenty-five. Jesus didn't have to worry about whether or not to "become a Christian". Think about that. But significantly, and I picked up on this about fifteen years ago- there's one thing we humans do that Jesus never did in the Bible, and that is to follow orders or directions. Many of us are told "shut up" "get in line" "stand over there" "show respect" or whatever. Jesus being God had the unique life of being the center of his own world and didn't have to "humble" himself to anybody. But just think- - for the first thirty years Jesus had an ideal life and he had one without having to become a Christian. I find that fact just totally trippy.
Not only on the subject of gay marriage but also on religion in general- - I suspect there is a great devide between those over and those under forty. I'll reming you that in no "future scenario" in any movie that I am aware of does Christianity even exist. Either everybody is wrong, or everyone is "seeing the obvious". (Selah)
