Is the Christian Church Suffering from "Dementia"?

Since I have a small cache of cigarettes now my brain works and I can do a posting today.  (No day is complete without one)  Let’s talk about dementia.  Contrary to what I and many have believed, dementia is not the same as Alzheimers or memory loss.  Although this can certainly be an eventual symptom.   But basically dementia is a deterioration of the synapses in the frontal lobe of the brain.  As per the analogy, the “connections get a little frayed”.  As such the personality just completely breaks down.  It’s not, as some would imagine, that certain suppressed elements of one’s personally now come out that had been dormant.  But rather a whole new, different personality emerges that were never part of one’s nature before.  There was a rather surly lady here the first few months I lived here named Mary Jane, who used to work as a pit boss in Las Vegas, and I was thinking ‘I’d sure hate to get caught in a card game with her”.  Then we have Jin Spencer, and it would ease my mind to know that “He wasn’t always like the way he was when he was living here, particularly the past two months when it got rediculas.  But how, you ask, is the Catholic Church showing signs of “dementia”.  Well, let’s take an obvious example of memory loss.  There was a guy named Sebelius who lived around AD 200 (fifty years later than I had been told by other Christians)  And he came up with this “Hericy” that the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, were all of One Nature and only showed various “masks” that “appeared” to be other persons, but they really weren’t.  He was condemned by “The Church” as a Heritec, but then this other guy in Egypt named Athenasius, whom Pastor Mark praised in a sermon, at the end of the century revived this doctrine of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost being of “one essential nature”.  But times had changed and the only difference between him and Sebelius- - could be likened to a mental patient with three different personalities.  One guy really is a psycho and the other guy is just faking it to get out of jury duty.  That would be Sebelius.  Then we come to the Pope’s proclamation that nations ought to enforce “equality of income”.  Sean Hannity was horrified by this pronouncement naturally claiming it was contrary to everything Christianity stood for, and to buttress his argument quoted Pope Pious XI, who was Pope when Hitler was in power- - who made remarks that appeared to be a condemnation of Bolshivism.  Clearly the tea party of today seems to have no memory of the actual person of Jesus who walked on this earth.  Then for our final case we have this whole St Thomas church in India.  I’ll say more about them in a minute, but they were an Ancient “Syrian Christian” Church that migrated to India and settled in this one city and kept their Syrian language and liturgy.  But then Catholics from Portugal came there in the fifteenth century and were astounded at the hericy of this Church and began gathering up and burning suspect texts right and left, and gave the clergy of this Church other texts, “the corrected ones”, which naturally were written in Latin.  I think it’s Judy’s belief that my Dad’s brain was just slightly fried taking all of these Seretonin “re-uptake” inhibitors – and are impossible to bet off if because “getting back in touch with the way things really are” is too painful.  And many have claimed these drugs basically alter an individual’s personality, and personally if I thought I had problems relating to Dad before- - it was worse now in the years before his death.

Stephanie made some remarks about FOX news and how when it started out in the nineties it wasn't as demented as it is today.  Back then it really was just "a conservative version of the news" and not its own self contained Propaganda machine.  But it has escaped few people's notice that FOX and Rush also spent a lot of time bashing Hillary Clinton, and almost no time either condemning terrorists in either Libya or Nigeria- - or - heaven forbid- - actually trying to find and put on trial those responsible for the Bengazi attacks.  In the latest news the "western" ice sheet of Antarctica is cracking off and melting so fast that it has become an "unstoppable" process, and it's almost a fact now that oceans all around the world will rise three feet affecting Florida cities like Miami and Tampa.  They have disgnosed the second case of the MERS virus.  But Health Care workers are the most vulnerable.

In terms of this Donald Sterling guy and his wife Shelly Sterling- - both of them are lying in their respective interviews.  Shelly did one of the final interviews of Barbra Walters, who is 82 and Friday will be her last show.  The wife claims that her husband had no memory of the things he said on that tape made by the girlfriend, or mistress, or “care taker” or whatever she’s calling herself these days.  Many have accused Shelly herself of being a racist.  But when Donald Sterling was asked about that major legal suit filed by tenants of various minority races in 2004, the man had no comment.  People were called horrible names, and they had to live in sub standard apartments where toilets and other basic essentials didn’t work.  He’s really heart wrenching to hear their stories.  But now Donald Sterling has “No comment”.  I’m sorry, that’s not good enough.  And so Shelly says “Maybe he has dementia”.  Or maybe she when she said that was just “thinking out loud” and didn’t intend to say it.  Or maybe she DID intend to say it as some sort of cover-up of her husband’s misdeeds.   If you know me I’m not at all sympathetic to the insanity defense whenever its used.  I believe people are accountable for their actions, because if people are NOT accountable for their own actions, we’ll live in a world of chaos.

The Washington Monument will again be having tourists starting today.  The said that the stones in the monument are so perfectly put together they didn’t even need morter.  That sounds a little frightening considering the prospect of a 5.8 earthquake.  I could picture big stones being hurled downward.  This flook 5.8 earthquake occurred in August of 2011.  I didn’t think it was that long ago.  As such the monument was closed for 994 days or just shy of a thousand.  When it was finished in 1884 it was the tallest building in the world.  It held that status for a mere five years till the Eifel Tower was opened in France.  They claim that the Eifel Tower was only meant to be an exhibition for the World’s Fair, but fortunately they kept it up.

The big news in soap land is of course that Nick Fallon is dead.  He didn’t survive his two gunshot wounds right through the heart.  But what’s really odd about today’s episode is that there was close to zero questioning of anyone by the police.  Normally in cases like this they take everyone’s name and address, and then haul them into the station one by one (so they can’t compare notes) and are asked, usually many times, what they can remember about the event, and don’t spare even the most minor of details.  They could be important.  But the Salam PD, kind of in the tradition of OJ Simpson - - decides to give the whole crowd strangely congregated together in one place- - give them a pass, and each and every one of the suspects is allowed to return to their respective homes and destroy evidence or whatever.  Clearly even a disinterested observer of these people would see this particular cloister of people continually huddled together, as if organizing a football play, and then you find out that all of them have a motive to commit the murder.  And still you don’t think anything of it, or think to question ANY of them.

We told you that we had “Solved the mystery” of how the Christian Church, also known as the Holy Catholic Church - - came to Be.  But now there is a complicating factor with new players introduced and perhaps at an earlier date.  You see when Justin, who was martyred- - got saved- - as you know he met this “old man walking along the shore” and he “was probably a Syrian Christian”.   You can’t look up “Syrian Christian” though, because they refer you to that Church in India.  Justin claims that only a belief in Monotheism would do, because “That’s the only kind of belief that isn’t pagan” and Justin “didn’t like pagens”.  OK.  And there is an extensive quote of the words of this “old man” speaking of fulfilled prophecy, which Justin appeared facenated by.  He was also impressed with his the people of this Church loved each other and their high sense of morality.   So then I had to know about this “Syrian Church” or maybe the church never existed to begin with but everybody postulated that it did.  I don’t know.  But I did ask Bones about this and maybe he cleared up some of the muck.  You see in what I call “Luigi Cascagali” Christianity- -  -there were these sons of Judas of Galilee, who lived at the turn of the century.  (Yeah, he remembers when “Main Street” was not just a place in an amusement park)  I knew four of the five sons - - there was Thaddius (varied spelling) and Simon and Joseph, and Jonah.  Thaddius was the ring leader of 400 men who attempted a Revolution in 46 AD or so in Galilee.  All except Jonah were also the names of brothers of Jesus.  But there is a fifth son, Stu-baby points out.  Because the people who wrote the Gospels got Jude and Thaddius mixed up occasionally - - but they were two different people.  Jude, or “Judas” if you must- - was actually a Twin of Thaddius.  And it was this twin brother who went to India and so that Thomas’ real name was not Thomas, but actually Jude.   Justin had a protogee named Tatian, who actually showed signs of lapsing into signs of Valentinian Gnosticism.  I learned this from two independent sources.  Both Justin and Tatian were from Palestine.  Tatian identified with this Syrian church- - - and in his later years moved to what we now call Iraq.   There was also a “Theudas” where Valentinian got his “spiritual instructions”.   But detractors say that Valentinus was just some nobody looking for a job as a Priest, but was turned down by some Bishop.
