DEATH - IS - THE - END - (A Meditation)

Loretta and I in our lunch conversation were definitely unable to reconcile one point. You see I was raised a Protestent. The thing is that Catholics and Mormons have one belief and Protestents have another- - on the subject of Death. People say they don’t believe in soul sleep when in reality they really do and they don’t know it. Now when I say soul sleep I mean the person is physically Dead. Just about as Dead as he will ever be. He is not conscious or aware of anything and can no longer make any intelligent decisions as to his own life for either good or bad. The Lord allots us so much time in this world and when our number is up, that’s it. Our life is through. Some may point to the rather allegorical scripture in revelation about Saints being given white robes and palm branches and told to “rest a while”. But in reality I believe this is just poetic license and being artful about the whole subject. Once in this state - - there is no record of these people Doing anything. Now enter the Catholics and Mormons. Catholics believe in praying for the Dead. If you were to pray for the Departed at a protestant funeral you might be well Corrected by one of the fellow Mourners. Funerals have absolutely nothing to do with “guiding the departed’s soul through the perils of the afterlife. This isn’t an Egyptian prayer in the Ten Commandments movie. The funerals are for the solace and mental and spiritual health of those who live on. When Jesus talked to that guy who wanted to build bigger barns for his wealth- - Jesus called him a fool, for that night his soul, or life, would be required of him. What would he be able to do then? Nothing. The moral of this little tale is that there is no baptism for the Dead. It is not a part of my “internalized values”. What we ARE offered as Christians is a hope of a resurrection in the “Last Day” at the end of the Age. It takes not the slightest bit of imagination to figure out this could be milenia away and just perhaps Billions of years away when Peter says the Universe will deflate like a balloon with a shrill noise. There is no St. Peter waiting at the pearly gates you get to pass through if your name is on the list. All of the dead who have ever died since the dawn of history on this planet are in fact, just as dead as the day they died. This is the Bible. This is what it teaches. If you don't like it, get another religion not based on the Bible.

EXOTETICALLY SPEAKING

If Neil Savedra is going to invent new words out of thin air at least be logical about it. For instance here is a science question. When you see dry ice evaporating into steam are you witnessing a physical Isothermic reaction? A lot of dopes would be tempted to say that yes you are. The answer is NO. You are observing an endothermic reaction where energy is being pulled of the surrounding space and pulled INTO the molecule so that it now has the energy to evaporate. Neil used the term of Isogesis today. I’ll give you examples of Isogesis. There is a No Smoking sign in the room and someone comes in the room and you say to him and point “The sign says no smoking”. You technically have not expressed your own opinion one way or the other. You’re just repeating what the sign says. The sign might refer to smoking beef jerky or perhaps over-heating electric circuits for all you know. But if you engage in EXO-gesis, then you are pulling out of the sign the intent of the actual person who put the sign up, and thence you might conclude that the sign is referring to smoking cigarettes in that room. Another instance of Isogesis is the Mitt Romney add playing the clip of President Obama uttering the words “If we continue to talk about the economy, we’re going to lose”. Another instance of Isogesis would be quoting the passage in scripture that says “We know that God does not listen to sinners”. There is a real question whether this id “Doctrine” or whether it’s just quoting a Priest. You can argue it either way. One example of what you might call Endo-gesis is saying that God forbids smoking, or that God forbids gambling of any kind, even that of the most benign nature like a church raffle. Neil has stated that it is perfectly all right to enhance and exaggerate scripture if it serves the purpose of “making you more spiritual”. But I wonder whether Jesus of Nazareth was practicing the “big boundaries” Neil speaks of when he let Mary Magdolane rub him down with all that scented perfume. My Bible never uses the phrases like “alcohol in any quantity is a sin” or “tobacco use is a sin”. What I have said before and I told Loretta is that any substance taken into the body that harms your Spirit or spiritual relation with God should not be done, such as dropping LSD. In my book many practice endo-gesis is that they insert their own ideas into scripture passages. So what would be exogesis. On the matter of race Neil is right of course. Anthropologists tell us there is no such thing as a racial gene. There are only aggregate combinations of people with more or less of certain genes than other groups. As one person pointed out “We are all of one blood” and it’s same color; it’s red, and that is the redeeming blood of Jesus Christ. I remarked to Loretta that I see no reference to Jesus ever forgiving a murderer in the Bible. I pointed to the example of Barrabus. Loretta says “That’s because he never asked”. But what can we exegetically draw out of scripture? There IS such a sin as a Mortal sin. But the Bible never explicitly states “X is the mortal sin we are referring to”. As far as I know no murderer was ever offered salvation by Jesus. So how can we know? Well we know that we are born entitled to one life to live. As long as we have that life we have a chance of redeeming it. But we can’t redeem a life that no longer belongs to us. If you take the life of another- - you have stolen his life and by all accounts you owe him your life. It’s like a business with no equity trying to get a bank loan. He can’t do it. I know of no instance in the lengthly Book of Acts where any known murderer joined the church. Taking pleasure in the death of another is not pulling the trigger yourself. (Selah)

THE MARCUS ARELIUS QUIZ OF BASIC MATH AND LOGIC INTELLIGENCE

Almost every computer and every computer today is based on what kind of Logic.

A Linear Logic

B Geometric Logic

C Quantom Logic

D Inductive Logic

The Pascal computer language is in error in my opinion - in that it improperly lists a whole category of numbers as “Real Numbers”. What is the Proper term that every other computer program language uses? (hint – think of ice cream)

There is regular trigonometry and hyperbolic trigonometry. In which type of trigonometry do you run into calculations which straddle Infinity, or in other words, where Infinity is “just another number”?

A wave is basically dependent on two things for its propagation- - an energy source and a WHAT?

In “Typing” of computer variables there is the story of the “Young baseball umpire” and the “Old baseball Umpire”. Which Umpire is analogus to computer variable typing.

Define the word “define”

If three points define a plane (and they do) what do four points define?

Analog and Digital electronic transmissions have in common transmission by the same (or common) WHAT?

Which word is not a synomym to the others on the list?

A Real

B Irrational

C Analog

D Quantom

Complete the final term in the famous “cone slicing sequence” in classic solid geometry. - - - Circle ---- Elipse -----Perabola- - - WHAT?

Which letter to follow gives you an Irrational Number?

Half of of 273 degrees Kelvin

Half of Donald Trumps Salary

The square root of 169

Half the length of the your dining room table

In Radio Transmission - - in one means the frequency of the signal varies with the Frequency of the carried Intelligence. In the other the Frequency of the signal varies with the Amptitude of the Intelligence carried. Which is AM and which is FM

Transferring to Arc-degree readings from number coordinate ratios is obviously backwards from most trig tables. Which comparison below would most poorly represent this sort of number conversion? (Which three in common LACK the same thing?)

Quantom or particle theory of light verses the EM or wave theory of light

Going from AM to FM transmissions (using the generic definition)

Going from digital to analog means of transmission

Going from Ferenheit verses Kelvin readings for degree temperature.

Sketch is based on a projection convention where straight lines always are shown as straight lines NO MATTER what “degrees of arc” setting you adjust the thing to. Thus we can conclude that Sketch drawings are best suited to be shown on What type of s Screen?

Square screen

Rectangular screen

Curved screen

Flat screen

In BASIC program for certain complex “pattern” drawings- - increasing the STEP number specification will - - A - - Increase the complexity, B Decrease the complexity

The proper (my) definition of a “linear equation” is a bit different from usual. I do not differentiate between “straight” and “curved” linear equations. Under my definition give me an example of a NON linear equation. (you have the best chance of getting this question if you are either a grammar school kid, or else “think outside the box”)

Define the difference between a Dependant and an Independent Variable and be very specific.

In which Math aid is it important to learn darn quickly the difference between a Dependant and an Independent Variable?

A slide rule

A De Base IV database program

A calculator with full higher mathematical calculation buttons

An Excel spreadsheet

In the Precedence of AND s and OR s, moist computer languages that I’m familiar with use a common default precedence. Is this default pattern along the lines of - - A - - - the “road map analogy” or B - - - the “Chinese menu analogy”.

Which one can be deadly for any computer program.

A - - Circular Logic

B - - - A break in Circular Logic

A Republican in his computation of the Average Income earned in this country will use the AVE function in Excel. Or he might use my own BASIC program which accomplishes the same thing. - - - What method would a Democrat most likely use in the computation of the average household income. (not to get political or anything)

Which expression below do I NOT regard as a example of Sin

Indulgence

Error

Hyperbola

Specified tolerance for machine tool production

A computerized searies of deductive calculations of the specific physics of what caused a certain car crash.

Which mode of EM transmission is able to pull out more “Intelligence” from an out of phase signal - - AM or FM? The “Intelligence” may not be something you want to see but compared to the alternative it’s intelligence none the less.

When it comes to computing band width on Analog TV stations do you use a logarithmic system or a straight numeric system the higher in transmission frequencies you go?
