Do People Get Smarter Once They Die?

This is Saturday February 29, 2020 with blotchy cloud skies.  The sun was observd rising at 6:31 but it was earlier than that.   President Trump today is ratifying a treaty made with the Talliban to end the eighteen year long war with Afghanistan.  That’s as long as I’ve lived here.  We wish President Trump all the best.  Meanwhile the struggle between the rebel forces in Syria and the Assad government is still going on.  The rebels supported by Turkey are losing and the United States has chosen not to get involved.  Today is primary day in South Carolina and Joe Biden looks to be the winner.  They say February has been a very dry February indeed here and all over California.  Meanwhile high waves in Lake Erie have crashed into windows.  Usually the lake is frozen over this time of year but this year we still have “lake effects snow.

Nobody but a few psychics and me have claimed to talk to dead people.  And in my case it’s been only people that I never knew in life and also that are musicians or people associated with musicians.   I’ve seen a lot of people die around here and none of them have come back.  Glen Fry made the statement about a week ago that people don’t suddenly get a lot smarter or are able to do things at a hundred times the speed just by virtue of being dead.  The Bible claims we will “know” (God?) even as we are known.  This would seem to me to be a wide ranging promise.   I think it’s a major claim that we will “have all of our questions answered”.   I guess that’s why major theologians such as radio star Neil Savedra won’t answer them here.  When you approach him on his “Jesus Christ” show you bang your head into a wall of theology and feel as though you aren’t “reaching him” on a heart to heart basis.  The Mormons claim that we had a pre existance and that our memory of that will be restored once we die.  The Federation is sympathetic to this point of view.  But nobody wants to have their memory wiped like a blank slate and starting over as a little child in an alien culture and language.   But remember the Bible basically claims that nobody has come back from the dead at least to tell about it.  When Jesus Christ came back it was only to have a “Bible Study” of pre-existent Hebrew scripture.

We’re going to lavender right now and temporarily skipping over “Early Sunset”.   I had Randy Rhodes on for the first time in a while over the noon hour.  It sickens me to think that some politician might to seek political advantage out of a disease.  I hope and pray that Trump isn’t doing that with the Corona virus.  Actually I’m reassured that the president isn’t making a big thing out of this virus attack.  I don’t think it’s bad in this country at all and you never know but what the president might be right about the arrival of warm weather.  At least people’s immune system will be better and people will be more scattered out in the open air and not cloistered all in one spot.  The Pope has a cold now after Ash Wednesday services where he expressed support for the people who have the Corona virus.  A lot more people die from the garden variety flu, which is something people should well keep in mind.  In Japan they are giving students in public school the entire month of March off.  But I guess they’ll have to make it up later.  There is talk of canceling the Olympics but that would be unspeakable.  Randy Rhodes still has the same introduction.  I should watch as a regular thing like I used to back before she took that Costa Rica hiatus, which I really haven’t gotten over.   In politics, Joe Biden is now leading twenty percent in the latest South Carolina polls.  For a while Sanders was catching up to him but that’s a thing of the past after last Today’s debate.  Personally I think in these grim times we need someone who’s “safe” and won’t try any “communist” experiments.  Paul is deathly afraid of that.  But Sanders is great on the stump and in the role of campaigning for Joe Biden he will do well.   I’m just afraid that both Biden and Sanders are too old.

On Days of our Lives,  Ben is having his last meal.  I want mine to be fried chicken and potato salad.  Preferably Church’s chicken like Norma serves, just to let her know I am thinking of her.  I guess he chooses from an approved list.  Maybe a little Tacote beer would go nicely.  His father is almost having a human relation with his son.  Meanwhile the real guilty party isn’t Victor or Zander.  That’s what we all thought for the longest time.  The father of David’s DNA was at the murder site of Jordan (Ben’s sister).  You may not believe it but this is the same male nanny and Christian Maddox is his real name, is the same one that Raphael hired to take care of his adopted son, David.  Only on a soap opera do these bizzaro things happen.  I told Joe they’re going to have a police chase with minutes to go.  I guess being “too late” is not a plot option.

I got two Oreos and a cup of tea for snacks in the lobby.  I talked to Larry Cramer about all the other people in that wing of the hall that are getting sprayed for bugs next Wednesday.  Just as long as it’s not me.  I prayed to God for deliverance.  The weather was so hot today I was actually sweating.  A first for this current heat wave.  I lay down on the bed briefly.  Then I picked up my Bible and read Isaiah 53 just to see if there is any portion of the text I had forgotten.  The only question mark I have about the text was the portion that says “as for the people of his generation, who considered him dead”.   I don’t know what that means.  After this I went to the store and got an eight-pack of chocolate donuts and strawberry Clippers.  I’m saving the donuts for later this evening when I get hungry.  It was the ABC network news after EWN.  We are going to hear about the Corona virus for a long time.  We had a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner with tomato, and an onion and cucumber salad.  We had chocolate pudding for dessert.   I think Joe is asleep.  The window is open a crack.  That’s not wide enough.  I think it was Tuesday the 25th that I saw the new crescent moon for the first time.  This is the thinnest crescent I have seen for a while.

I wanted to talk about Democracy Now yesterday morning.  I want to give President Trump the benefit of the doubt.  Trump is always saying how great he gets along with the foreign leaders of the world.   He has been praising the leader of India for one, where he just got done visiting.  There is nothing wrong with diplomacy.  But now we hear talk about religious strife and the Indian government is somehow behind it.  I don’t want to jump to any snap conclusions.  There may be a perfectly logical explanation.  But it looks as if Moslems are being persecuted in India and in Kashmir.  This is what the Orion Federation thinks.  They argue that the United States should take up the cause of these persecuted Moslems.  But the real question is what does God think?  That’s the big question.  Is God a Hindu?  That makes no sense at all.  It’s almost as if a religion has been politicized just to say “These are my people and I side with them and they are my propaganda tools”.   But I have another question.  Hindus are fragmented.  I don’t believe the Krishna consciousness people are involved in these riots or whatever they are.  We also have the ironic expression of a peaceful Moslem.  So where are all their Moslem buddies back in the Mideast?  How come they’re not racing to their defense.  Or maybe they are.  People repeat the assertion “I never met a dictator I didn’t like”.   I wish someone would explain that one to me.
