A Dangerous Step Tword International Corporate Hegemony

"You know that creepy Organ music you heard when you met that other guy who looks like me?  That was a warming"  -George Burnes

Mal Evans:  "Oh is that what it was.  I thought it was a clip from Jethro Tull's A Passion Play"

First of all "in case you didn't hear" to quote Bearl Eyves - - I'm officially turning bearish on the stock market at large.  I've been bullish since about July of 2009, which, if you will recall, was one of the reasons why I was against Mom selling the house, because I felt she was selling at the bottom.  So basically I've been gun ho for over four years now, but as they say "all good things must come to an end - - turn out the lights; the party's over.  The game is in the refrigerator".  (That's a Jim Cooper expression)  But I want to talk about this new Pacific Rim trade agreement among a dozen Pacific rim nations including Mexico, Canada, Chile, Viet Nam, Austrailia, and others.   Even a conservative news outlet came out strongly against this agreement.  It ucerpts the role of Congress itself- - and causes Congress to permanently give up perogatives guarenteed it by the Constitution.  This is serious stuff.  It is an ecological nightmare.  It will be illegal now to sell "Dolphin Safe tuna" because some tuna places in Mexico- - don't like this provision and will not comply and so therefore all nations must abide by this lowest common denominator.  Nobody has the right to put "Dolphin Safe' on their product because it would by nature draw business away from the "Non dolphin safe tuna".  Capish?  Likewise- - some Canadian oil company was drilling in El Salvador or something (which I didn't see in the list of nations) but now a corporation has the right to sue LITIGATORS for Loss of Business caused by the adverse publicity.  Do you see what I mean.  Everything is centered around the corporation.  This is the perfect New World Order document.  They wanted it approved in October when the President will be visiting Malaysia then- - - but the deal hasn't been fully worked out.  Some people say there may even be internet ramifications to this bill.  But I'm worried because though the Republicans oppose all else- - they are suckers for a new "Free Trade" agreement.  The word "Free Trade" is kind of those buzz words for "More commerce - - more jobs", kind of like "Less filling - tastes Great".   But this is one Bud you don't want to include in your groceries.  Oh - - that's Schlitz.  This one caller to the Nicole Sandler show - - states that this whole Free Trade thing is one of the major contributors to loss of jobs.  Increased technology therefore productivity per employee has gone way up- as wages go down.  As you know is the minimum wage were at 1968 levels adjusting for inflation the figure would be at around $10.20 an hour.  However this caller says that is productivity were factored into the equation- - the figure would be sixteen dollars an hour- - that employees are really worth now.  As you know it was about forty years ago- almost to the month- that the buying power us US worker's wages was at its peak, and it has been in decline ever since.  Well, now the stock market is going to be in sustained decline for several months.   Of course we could hire back all those government workers laid off in either the sequester, or else the draconian measures instituted by Red State governors.  But we need of course to work on our infra-structure because this was an "economic savings" plan instituted by President Reagan in an unsuccessful effort to make his tax policies look like they made some sort of sense.  So we have bridges and dams, and roads - - perhaps even airports- - in ill repair.  But if we really wanted to get the recovery going we'd institute a massive retrofitting program to bring old buildings up to modern energy efficiency standards.  Sometimes it's just re-caucing things.

It's almost as though I could "feel the presence of the Boston Red Sox" before they ever got here last week- and then they go on and take two out of three games, and make the Dodgers look bad.  Sometimes you just have to know how to interperate psychic impressions.  I mention below I have the "impression" that our President is in more trouble than he even thinks.  He's trying to "wish away this Republican House' thinking perhaps that maybe they have "mellowed out" in the summer relaxing with friends or something.  But it's like what they say about alcoholics.  They claim if you quit alcohol - - if you should return it it- you re enter NOT where you left off- - but rather where you Would have been had you Never Quit.  I always find it curious that when I leave a pack of cigarettes at the room- - as many cigarettes seem to disappear as though I'd been here smoking them for those six hours.  I remember when Frank Olsen made his trip to New Orleans in September of 1987 - - he came back meaner and more abrasive than he was when he left.  It's like a cat with a urinary infection.  You don't see it a few days and you figure "maybe the cat has gone off somewhere to get better" and the next time you see the cat- - it's Dead.  Yes, I'm a regular ball of cheer this evening aren't I?  But I'll tell you this- - E J Di Mira is the only one in the Samantha murder case who is objective about the whole thing.  I say this simply because "you never gain from losing hope".  Anything can and does happen - especially in soap operas.  For one thing Someone stole the murder weapen the assailent was going to used that necessitated Samantha defending Raphael in the first place.  If they find that one it's "Game Over' for Stephano and his goons.  If someone says they can prove a case against you - - Make Them Prove It.  (Selah)   But of course Samantha reminds me of my mother.  She makes a long list of reasons why it would be utterly stupid to do a particular action - - and then she goes ahead and does it.  I just hope the President doesn't fall into the same mental trap when it comes to this Pacific Rim trade agreement.  Now on Eye Witness news they say they have discovered the secret of mind control of one human being over Another.  Don't tell anyone at Metropolitan State!   The chorus of "I told you so's" will prove unendurable!

The most memorable stuff was in the rerun of the Meet the Press show with Laurance Spivac and three other NBC reporters from August 25th 1963, which apparently was just before and not after the march on Washington.  I was positively amazed at how paranoid they all were about violence.  And it gets some getting re-used to hearing the term “Negroes” spoken of as if were some species of garden pest you weren’t quite sure how to handle.  There were fears of “unification” and starting an “All Negro political national party”, which Dr. King and Whitney Young said would not be advisable- - and he also said that an overall “unification of groups” was not what he was after.  There were questions about how hard you wanted to press or whether the Blacks would riot is no bills were passed in 1964 and King and Young were asked about incidents of violence I was not fermiliar with.  They both get an A plus for staying cool and not veering from their message dispite intense grilling.  One organizer was a professed Communist but Dr King said, “He told me he wasn’t”.   At nine thirty they were going to have a panel of people including Larry Elder discussing race issues but I wasn’t sticking around for that.   There was talk of cloning John Lennon from the DNA of a pulled tooth in the ‘seventies.  We really do need to get a hold of a medium to ask about that.

I had Leo Le Port on after noon.  He says that “fire wire” is on its way out, which Apple promoted.  Last week he said “Nobody buys seventeen inch laptops anymore because they’re just too big.  Leo uses a ten inch tablet.  I thought I heard Leo disparage Windows Office, because they are proprietary Windows products.   They keep changing up this or that - - and in five years things can seemingly do a makeover.  I just don’t see the point in all that planned obsolescence.   They have “first class lounges’ at airports but also “business class lounges” with showers and free booze according to Leo.  But if you have the right premium platinum credit card- - you can get into these “Longue” areas without going through the usual means.  I guess that’s nice to know.  Leo also said that colleges tell students NOT to bring their own printers because they are supplied by the colleges- - but the professors themselves say they do NOT want paper copies of reports but they want E mails.  To me that is real el bizzaro land.  Henry is at the University of Colorado, which doesn’t start till next week.  The birds are tweeting merrily on one of their award winning bird calls.   It’s now just after one and I’ve gotten this far without borrowing a single cigarette or a single dollar from Janet - - at least in the past day and a half.   I did not see a single Martin Luther King commemoration thing on TV.

I just stuck in some personal stuff that I could have just as easily edited out completely.   I went down to the courtyard for one coffee and a half of a glazed donut.  We had tomato soup I got that and the drink myself.  We had a hot dog and potato chips, and Tom let me have his chips.  We had an orange for desert.  Nicole Sandler is against the President taking any hint of military action in Syria.  She’s said the first item on the Republican House’s agenda when they return will be to impeach the President.  She then played two back to back Joe Byden speeches from 2007 and yesterday attempting to show some contradiction between the two speeches.  The President made his speech at the Washington mall just about noon, and it was rather unremarkable.  It was kind of all about the past, when what we need now is leadership for the future.   Laura Ingrem is this conservative talk show host and she played a loud gunshot interrupting John Lewis’s speech on immigration and there was a six second pause.   Since John Lewis is a current congressman- - what Laura did could be constrewed by the secret service as a threat.   Meanwhile Zimmerman’s wife basically walked on her purgery charges after she pled guilty.  There is a question to me how the hell you “plea bargain down” a charge like purgery when there is no question but what you did it and are guilty.  It was bargained down from a felony to a misdemeanor where her sentence was probation and “community service”.  As I was saying yesterday you can’t get justice in Florida courts.  I’m actually more worried about this President now that somehow- - somebody somewhere has something bad planned for him, like having a nine hundred pound safe dropped on your head, or something.

This morning I had Bill Press on and then Stephanie Miller.  I think we had Cheerios this morning followed as yesterday by scrambled eggs with stuff in them, but today I remembered to use the Picante sauce.  I had one of the pieces of toast dry, and the other one with butter and jelly getting Augustine’s attention.  I became drowsy after breakfast.  Denise had returned the laundry basket.  I didn’t begin to put the clothes away till ten to three.   I had ideas for my next blog this morning but I have decided I don’t want to go any more in that direction right now.  Once again Mario was on.  Mario believes we should intervene in Syria and Moe Kelly believes that we should not.  The people against it have the same time-worn list of reasons.   This is an update later in the evening (though the sun is still shining)  REASONS ARE TRICKY THINGS  People it seems don't DO things for Reasons- - they act on FEELINGS and psychological "Needs" to "Prove Something".   So spouses go running off to have an affair with an old lover- - and care not that such action is suicidal.  A lot of people HATE "reasons".  They believe things such as 'All Reasons are really Rationalizations.  I hate Rationalizations.  There having Reasons for or against doing something mean nothing to me.  President Obama is more afraid of how Nicole Sandler or Rand Paul will react to his decision on Syria than he is where the decision is actually Right or Wrong.  Few politicians, I'm convinced DON'T EVEN BOTHER to consider whether a decision is Right or Wrong.  All they care about is "What makes them feel safe, and what is least likely to cause them to do any real Thinking.  So people like Obama and that ninety percent of the American public- - view ignoring the Syrian problem as the "Safe" decision.   People don't really care either about the long term consequences of any Decision they make in politics.  All they are worried about is their numbers in the next oppinion Poll.  If I were to call myself a Christian- - I would be saying something like "I don't see how God can honor the reputation of any politician who thinks like this".
