I figured I'd post the following passage Thom Hartman so often quotes on the topic of religious liberty, and some would say the right to freedom FROM Religion. It's Thomas Jefferson to Benjamin Rush.
I promised you a letter on Christianity, which I have not forgotten.
On the contrary, it is because I have reflected on it, that I find much
more time necessary for it than I can at present dispose of. I have a view
of the subject which ought to displease neither the rational Christian
nor Deists, and would reconcile many to a character they have too hastily
rejected. I do not know that it would reconcile the genus irritabile
vatum who are all in arms against me. Their hostility is on too interesting
ground to be softened. The delusion into which the X.Y.Z. plot shewed it
possible to push the people; the successful experiment made under the prevalence
of that delusion on the clause of the constitution, which, while it secured
the freedom of the press, covered also the freedom of religion, had given
to the clergy a very favorite hope of obtaining an establishment of a particular
form of Christianity thro' the U.S.; and as every sect believes its own
form the true one, every one perhaps hoped for his own, but especially
the Episcopalians & Congregationalists. The returning good sense of
our country threatens abortion to their hopes, & they believe that
any portion of power confided to me, will be exerted in opposition to their
schemes. And they believe rightly; for I have sworn upon the altar of god,
eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man. But
this is all they have to fear from me: & enough too in their opinion,
& this is the cause of their printing lying pamphlets against me, forging
conversations for me with Mazzei, Bishop Madison, &c., which are absolute
falsehoods without a circumstance of truth to rest on; falsehoods, too,
of which I acquit Mazzei & Bishop Madison, for they are men of truth.
In other news- - Paris Jackson made an attempt on her life this morning by taking pills and trying to slash her wrist. They said it was a "serious suicide attempt". Of course Paris Jackson is fifteen now and has had to live the past four years out from under the loving eye of her father, Michael. Of course Paris Jackson is living proof that Vitalaigo is an inhereted disease. The question is - where did she get her blue eyes from. As you know blue in genetics is what they call both recessive and homozigus - - meaning BOTH parents must posess the blue gene in order for her to have blue eyes. Of course brown can be either hetrozygus or homozygus. So in the immortal words of Martin on The Simpson's "Michael Jackson is definitely one of the major homos". But I do wish the Jackson family good luck in their uphill lawsuit against AEG entertainment. Actually back in September of 1990 I suspected that baby Amanda was not my daughter "because she looked too White". I don't even remember what color her eyes are, but if they were anything but brown I would have remembered it. Of course Joe is no David Bowie himself, if you know what I mean. I honestly don't know which came first, the "Amanda" episode on Next Generation with "Q" or the birth of the baby. But I figured as long as Will Horton was out of the closet now, I might as well come out of the closet myself. This was a baby that was conceived in the "November Rain" and I think I feel a song coming on here - - .
David Cruise was talking about the corruption in the LA fire department and then he lit into the Department of Water and Power Union. The average person earns just over a hundred thousand a year, and I trust that's the Median figure and not the Mean. Otherwise we have nothing to argue about. Of course Wendy Gruel would not have allowed any investigation of Union corruption if she had gotten elected mayor, so thank God for small favors. But David Cruise brings up a point most of us share in common. That is that money is a lot scarcer than it used to be and people work for every penny they get, and don't want to waste it. Given this- - it's only "seemly" to use an old fashioned word- - that government should use its financial sources prudently and wisely. I believe that President Obama squandered his political capital and the nation's capital- when he first took office in 2009, and he has been paying for it ever since. The Affordable Health Care act was a gigantic sink hole like they are having in Florida now, where funds go down a rat hole and are never seen again. A lot of cronies thought it was Christmas and tried to spend as much money as they could. Rather, we should have used those funds to invest in prudent jobs and infrastructure programs that would have benefited us all. Then we'd have had something to show for it. Of course Rush Limbaugh says if you have a hundred year old lady and a 35 year old man - - vying for funding for a heart pacemaker, the fact that one is a hundred and the other is 35 should have NO influence on the decision which person to have funding for. Rush Limbaugh is still keeping alive the concept of "Death Panels". In Rush' mind - - if people die in the street from poverty, which they do every day in big cities- - this is well and good, but if a 101 year old lady is denied heart surgery- - this is out and out government genocide or something, just like the Nazis practiced.
The 51 star features a hetro rather than a Homo planet. That is the races are heterogenious. You have your refugees from the Colors planet- - and previous to that- - Aldeberan IX. You also have your John Mayoll and Mike Bloomfield Chicago jazz types. And then you have what "Pink" referrs to as the "Trogg Group" that migrated to Denelus II. But then you have a group I never knew was even associated with the M 51 star. You have your Chicago clones like Chicago, Blood Sweat and Tears, Ides of March, Bill Chase et all. These groups have a different "vibe" at least to me from the foregoing because they ARE a different race, occupying the same planet however. There is another Hetero planet. The Del Phi planet I'm told is "A star in a constelation in the summer skies". The term "summer skies" is code for those constelations that are high in the summer sky around nine o clock or so, so take your pick. That's all I was told. The Jackson Family is associated with Del Phi, which is partially why I brought it us. But there is another Del Phi group called the "Delphinians" that are more of a mellow black soul group, and don't ask, yes the "Delphonics" are among them. But someone pointed out that Luther Vandros was from an off beat planet- - - he is from that "Aquarian" planet, along with groups like the Fifth Dimension and the Cowsills and Tommy James. Of course there was some Star Trek episode where the Federation did not like "half a planet' joining the Federation. And from the way Mal Evans talks - - you wouldn't even think Chicago was in the Federation judging from how often their songs get on rock compilations. (very rarely)
Of course we have the Claudius problem - - - because one Coptic Christian site says that Jesus or "Crestus' survived on into past AD 50. And also a Church Father tied Jesus' death in with Claudius and not Tiberious. We then have the report in Acts itself about Emperor Claidius cracking down on 'Jews" in Rome, and stuff about 'You're not that Egyptian, are you?" Of course we have that theological source Bugs Bunny to inform us that in AD 54 this group was all but destroyed by hard times. Because the Detroit Romulans came to town - - and they spoked the garnish of the T Bone Stankus Steaks they were dining on that night with magic mushroom - - containing the drug psylosyben- - and they all freaked out and hillucenated and developed mass amnesia and forgot what God they were worshipping. And I'm sorry to disturb some Catholic priests - - but Christianity is a lot less 'Homo" than these priests would like to admit. Ah yes- - it's time to come out of the closet and admit to being a Hetero, as far as your history is concerned.
