"- - Now It's a Monster - And Will Not Obey"

This whole contraversey about the government spying on all of our phone conversations is pretty much “Old News” but it’s making the rounds again so I’ll talk about it.  People are complaining that Vorizon handed a lot of information over to the government and the people at FOX are all upset about it and tried to enlist South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham into their cause, but Lindsey wasn’t biting saying  that safeguards are in place and we are only after domestic phone conversations where one of the callers is from a foreign country and is a terrorist.   FOX of course believes this is a new story and that it’s just another overstepping of Presidential powers by Obama, who is being known as BHO now.   Not HBO but BHO.  I don’t know if that’ll catch on.  California Senator Dianne Feinstein claims that this is just routine national security and safeguards are in place.  People say “This intrusion into our fourth amendment rights has already prevented One - - terrorist attack” in eight years.  President Bush suspended FISA rights in 2005 and expressly lied about that- - and since then we’ve known that they were in fact “recording literally every conversation” as one caller explained it.  And President George W asked for this power prior to 9 – 11 in the opening weeks of his administration.  Now we hear that A T & T has a little tiny spot on their bills where they give permission for government monitoring and in fact the government installed a special signal splitter on A T & T’s signals.  I would suppose this is because some ordinary Microwave transmissions might still be analog.  But what Feinstein referred to was deceptive in terms of “well, this is only meta-date such as time and duration of phone calls ect”.  However what she failed to say was the government already has this “vast sea” of data, and this so called “meta-data” only makes it a lot easier for them to sort and catalog it all out.  It is said that is President Obama willed it so; he could put an end to the Patriot Act right now.  But he isn’t.  There are those who say that President Obama has so much inside dirt on every congressmen, that if he so desired - he could blackmail literally any congressman in do doing what he wants them to do.

Today is June 6, 2013 and the 45th anniversary of the day in 1968 that Robert Kennedy died.  The semester in High School for me had not ended yet- - which goes to show- - many places are wrapping things up earlier now.  And for you John Lennon fans “45” is a triangulation of the Number Nine.  They are making the students in the National Spelling Bee, give you the meaning of all the words they spell now and if they don’t they fail.  It was never this way before.  In fact the contestant had the right to demand that the speaker use the word in a sentence and even in cases give the ethnicity of the word.  Things are different now.  This has been a busy news period.  Something strange occurred to me just now.  Maybe it’s because I have too much idle time on my hands but Nicole Sandler said “I think President Obama was against the Patriot Act, but perhaps he learned things as President that they told him”.  I got to wondering who this “they” are that “inform” Presidents when they take office.  Because to me it seems that it’s this “they” that is actually running the country.  As Steppinwolf says “Now [government] is a Monster and Will Not Obey”.  The Supreme Court has only rendered one of the many decisions it’s scheduled to render in this month of June.  The French Open is in progress and my soap opera is being preempted.  Remember on that show it’s still the night of May 22nd – May 23rd, if you are keeping track.  And Monday is June tenth.  You know what day that is.  It’s the day that the George Zimmerman trial begins at last, provided they haven’t once again delayed the date at the last minute.  We have our NHL Hockey and our NBA Basketball play-off in progress.  Governor Christie scheduled an election to elect a new N J Senator - - three weeks before his own re-election at great taxpayer expense, he suddenly doesn’t care about.  And then come the end of June everything comes to an end and there is precious little during the month of July.

Nicole Sandler is more of a liberal doctrinal purist than Randy Rhodes.  She says “Senator Sanders has the correct positions on virtually everything” and Sanders voted against the Patriot Act.  Nicole reminded her readers, as I would remind my blog readers, that there is that list on the internet of “Fourteen sure signs that we are in a Fascist State”.  The trouble with this list is the items on it can be subject to interperation as to whether we are actually experiencing those realities right now as for example they are in a dictatorship.  A lot of these questions are rather nebulus and don’t “hit us where we live”.  We citizens may be more concerned about more direct threats to our liberty.  For instance few people object to the fraction of a percent of parking places reserved for the handicapped.  But for instance what if you are circling the block in a downtown area and can’t find a parking spot- - but twenty percent of the parking meters are broken.  And you dare not park there for fear of being ticketed.  Would not allowing people to park in these spots provide more of an incentive to actually FIX these broken meters than they would otherwise have?   How about this one.  There are one of these alcohol check points up ahead on the road.  Do you have the right to make a U turn at that point (assuming its legal) to avoid the traffic stop, and if you do turn around, does the police officer have the right to pursue you?  Some wonder whether we want to be like London where virtually every square foot of land is subject to Video camera surveillance.  What I’m thinking is suppose there are so kids playing with beebee guns and they figure that these Camera would provide an excellent object for target practice.  Can the police then come back and sue these parents for damage to the cameras?   Are there questions a police officer has absolutely no business asking you when they pull you over on a minor traffic violation or perhaps a burnt out tail light.  And if you refuse to answer question you regard as either improper or perhaps even - - “would ten to incrimidate you” do the police officers have the power to then charge you with a crime and haul you in?  Do you see what I mean?  How about the example where a crime like a rape or kidnapping is being investigated in an old apartment- and Law Enforcement brings along with them building inspectors from the City, and has a list of charges sky high for the landlord to fix in thirty days or else face the consequences.  For that matter - - why shouldn’t people who work in a medical marijuana clinic be able to sue for the right to be paid minimum wage - - but the government won’t help them because it regards all of these clinics as illegal anyhow?

I guess some late night comedians such as Bill Mar on television are saying that by logical deduction that the Pope must himself be an Atheist otherwise he wouldn't be saying that Atheists can make it into heaven.  The trouble is there are talk show hosts, and I can think of two - - who say "OK being an Atheist is fine - - just don't take your Atheism seriously".   In other words it's OK to be an Atheist in Private- - but we want you to THINK like a Christian in public.  Of course in the time of Justinian there were still people who took that designation of "Universal Church" literally - in thinking that Salvation was in fact - - universal, regardless of Belief.  There were also some during this time playing with the concept of reincarnation.  Emperor Justinian put an end to both of these doctrines ruthlessly.  It strikes me as funny how the "heavenly church" has Roman Emperors such as Justinian and Constantine- - as its major power players throughout history.  And you read things not only in the Bible but in the early Church fathers saying that "Salvation was spread to every race and language throughout the whole world" as if any of these people knew how vast that was.  We are to believe that fifty days after Christ died - - people from seventeen different languages and races were getting Saved left and right.  I don't believe it.  Before the Gospels were even called that- and indeed some did not yet Exist- - Justin Martyr was talking about "Salvation being spread to every race of man".  I only mention this because back when I was young {"you mean you were actually YOUNG once?") people in Christian circles were expressing fear of worldly governments - - and broad edicts that would styfle people's personal beliefs.  Back in my day- - - "Belief" was said to be a personal thing.  It was a private conviction of each individual.  No More.  Back when I was young Larry Norman was preaching against "Churchianity" and people were saying that you didn't need to get dressed up in a suit and tie and go to church to find God, but that God could be found anywhere.  He could be found in a green meadow or the ocean, or on a high mountain.  No more.  FOX is so delusional that- - - Fox News ought to be labeled as a "communacation pathogen".  That is - - it's in the business of spreading diseased ways of thinking and relating.  It prevents us from asking the right questions, the way that Round Up, mutates weeds- - to make then unable to absorb water, and so they die.  They are not spreaders of mis-information but dis-information.  In this way they are exactly like Pravda - - in the old Communist society.  They not only starve you for real news and Truth- - but like Monsanto,  they put things "in the water" so as to disable your mind from doing its own Reasoning.  And personally I don't have any remedies for this sad state of affairs.  We'll all just have to wait and see what happens.
