"The only thing that's infinite about God is he has an infinite ammount of Apathy"
"Christianity practices a fundamental and pro-active denial of the Obvious"
"Rush Limbaugh is such a thorough despicable individual I wouldn't spit on him if he were on fire"
Nobody is saying Romney is not a decent, moral human being, or at least he used to be. But as with fundamentalist Christianity - - any wholesome and good inclination, any shred of humanity gets pummeled out of you by the insertion of all that tea party money.
People like Glen Beck say Obama's plan is to wreck this economy to create panic and arnarchy - - and then the people will protest and riot and force the instituting of some sort of massive socialist government. But if Romney gets elected President, this very scenario they profess to dread may well come to pass.

Rush Limbaugh was fired from his radio program and is now a seventh grade counselor. He has called this whimpy seventh grader into his office to have a little talk with him. Rush says, "I hear you've been bullying that ninth grade varsity football star, what about that. Kid: He's been bullying me every chance he gets. Rush: Well you know it's really your fault for provoking him. Kid: How is that? Well just the presence of a straight A student like you sends him into a frenzy and the edreneline gets going and he can't help himself. Kid: Well I heard bullying was bad not only for the victim but ruins the character of the guy who engages in it. What do you say about that? Rush: That's my point. Your very presence presents a problem. I suggest you volentarily "deport yourself" from this school right now. Kid: That's the biggest bunch of crap I've ever heard. Rush: Well, you've been going to this school exactly two weeks. He's been a student here for five years. So between the two of you who is presumed by the Navy - - er uh - - this school to be the more knowledgable? Kid: I am. When I have a straight A average and he has to bribe a teacher just to get a D. Rush: Get out of here! And don't darken this door again. You got that?
There is this guy from Wisconsin on now with the Republican response on KNX radio. He’s another proponent of the E I B doctrine - - ever increasing bullshit. Every word out of his mouth was bullshit and now it just ended. All of these leaders on the right are thoroughly despicable people, and we’ll come to Paul Ryan in a moment. But you know that one percent of one percent of Americans that control everything in terms of money. You have Rupert Murdoch owner of the FOX network and FOX news and also the Wall Street Journal, which has taken a lurch to the right ever since Murdoch has been running it. You know about the British tabloid stuff and the wire tapping and spying and all that that went on. You have Grover Norquist and his “no tax pledge” every Republican has to sign, which in itself could be constrewed as a violation of their oaths of office. You know about Louis Powell in 1971 before he got on the High Court and his letter to Nixon proposing steps for the far right to take power and his first pipe dream of an all Republican news network. You know about Jude Waninsky and his “Two Santa Clause” proposal that was carried out first under Ronald Reagan. You know about all of these rigged voting machines in Ohio in 2004 and since them in just about every election and the famed “red shift” that started in the last decade. You know how because of this ‘red shift” the networks have given up doing exit polling because it’s too embarrassing. And then as Chris Matthews mentioned on his program last night there is "angry money" where the Koch Brothers target swing stages and flood them with money to opponets who run against them running adds like "You know Obama is just too COOL to be President. And you can throw in reminders like how we have not resisted Soviet advances and how we abandoned Chezchloslavia in the 'Prague spring" of 1968. And of course congressmen can be strong-armed at will threatened they better vote for this or that corporate tax policy or whatever give-away is on the table at the moment. You know about Mitch Mc Conell and his pledge to do everything he can to insure that this President utterly fails in everything he attempts. Yet it dawned on me that it’s hard for me to picture someone voting for Romney who themselves have actually suffered in this recession. Because there are a LOT of people who have never been out of work and suffered loss or deprived their kids of sports wear or new clothes for school or even new cars, or the latest I phone model - . No. And yet somehow you are supposed to pretend as though you had suffered losses. The criteria isn’t whether you have suffered but what you heard on the news or heard from a friend of a friend about so & so suffering- - kind of like the anecdotal stuff Judy talks about. The most thoroughly despicable person out there is Rush Limbaugh. This is truly a pathetic excuse for a human being. That’s why I say he wouldn’t be worth spitting on if he were on fire. They had a thing on animal confinement on Bill Press this morning and how life on the farm isn’t all what it used to be, if you’re an animal. You have these over-bred cows that produce fantastic amounts of milk to their own detriment in health. You have crowded conditions of an unbelievable nature for pigs and sows and hens and the whole thing. You have cattle tightly confined and wallowing knee deep in their own excrement. They shoot the animals full of hormones and antibiotics, even though you wouldn’t give a human a drug without being sick but such conditions have to be anticipated to spawn illness. You know Rush Limbaugh gets off on any animal suffering. According to him “That’s what they’re here for”. Burger King and others are trying to clean up their act. But people like Rush not only despize doing the right thing, like paying more in taxes than your secretary, but Rush despises anyone ELSE would do the right thing. Of course Rush doesn’t have a compassionate bone in his body. He must have a reputation as a thoroughly dispacable individual growing up- - probably the ultimate bratty snob used to getting his own way all the time and not lifting a finger to help anyone else. We know Rush’s contempt for women, and children - - lots of material there, and of course the gay community, and let us not forget blacks, and particularly his utter despising of the poor and anything even vaguely smacking of such terms as “fairness” or “equality”. And now we come to Paul Ryan. At this point I will insert material in from a previous paste. Before dinner I played a lengthly segment of a Paul Ryan speech at Georgetown University, which is presumably Catholic. It was wall to wall BS with virtually every sentence out of his mouth with twisted, mangled, time-distorted logic. He contrasted Johnson's war on poverty with today's poverty rates and said that in essence "The Great Society" CAUSED the suffering these people are experiancing right now. Can you believe that?. Now they are talking about “Monkey-pox” on Eye Witness news. Mitt Romney said recently, “The American people elect a President – not an expert on foreign policy. That’s best left to his advisers. Joe Byden pretty well demolished that argument. Some lady named Hernandez was pepper-sprayed by a Beaumont officer and now the lady will be blind for life because of it. Apparently the suspect was entirely cooperative.

The whole bit about saying number one on our list as I now have it planned out in my mind is interesting. It goes back to remember when we were over at Mom’s and my hair was a whole lot shorter than it is now actually. And Mom said there were a few scraggly hairs or whatever and could she trim it and I said ‘No, Federico will be cutting hair in a week or so after I get paid”. And she kept insisting. And I remember the last time she had the clippers out and how shakey her hand was and I didn’t want to go through that again. But she kept pushing and I kept saying “No” and I managed to prevail. But I happened to think of the Dr. Phill thing about when a kid nags his parent to go somewhere or buy something he knows a parent has only so many “No” –s in him or her before she says “Yes, just to shut you up”. Then there is the parable of the widow and the judge with the same idea. And now the question is “How many No’s does God have in him?” Well, the resavuar is infinite. I’m sure there is a backlog of my prayers going back almost long as death row inmates in California prisons waiting to be executed. In fact I’d like to read all these prayers I’d sent up to God. There’s probably a whole lot I’ve forgotten that were really good and honorable prayers, done out of the best motives, and yet were utterly ignored by God. You could probably publish a book of them if you could remember them, and the human brain as a self preservation mechanism has this tendency to forget the overly painful and frustrating. So- - - hence we have slogan number one on our list.
As for slogan number two - - some interesting thoughts occurred to me. I felt like saying something to Judy like “You know you and Paul talk about hypoglycemia. But I have this new and wild theory. I’m postulating that low blood sugar levels are caused by - - not eating enough sugar. Yeah, that’s crazy, huh. People like Dr. Levy say “Money won’t bring lasting happiness” No, I guess the only thing that will bring about “lasting” happiness- - would be a fancy coffin well maintained after you’re dead, on a nice pastoral hillside or something with a lot of flowers around and a good view. You’ll pardon me if my “happiness” goals are not so long range. It’s kind of silly what Dr. Levy says. To use his logic if a man or family were freezing in a mountain cabin in the snow - - then bringing him firewood would be pointless because “You’ll only be cold again when the wood runs out”. So my wanting to have money to buy a package of crumb donuts is silly because “You’ll only be hungry again later”. I think Mom doesn’t give me maybe twenty or forty or sixty dollars because she somehow thinks I’m going to go right out and buy a carton of cigarettes, and sit down and smoke one right after the other or something. And this whole bit with [lady's name withheld] isn’t quite silly but it misses the mark. She said quitting smoking may help my weight. True. One could say the same thing of coffee. However ask yourself this question. What if there were a better supply of food for us here and we had money for snacks? So you think we’d be trying to “compensate’ for a fundamental lack of food with coffee or cigarettes. And then Bill Gunderson says the key to feeling fuller is to eat your food more slowly and Dr. Levy holds to the same falocy. Resturants know if they make you wait longer for food you smell the food and get hungrier than you were and will decide to eat more. And most dinners where much food is consumed spread the courses out. This is just another case of BS saying the key to feeling full is eating slower. Newt Gingrich says “The way to cure the unemployment problem is to have more people chasing the same amount of jobs”. So how is this going to LOWER the unemployment rate. Others say that we close the federal deficit by Cutting tax rates, even though this approach has Failed every time it’s been tried. You can go back to the 1964 tax cuts that Larry Elder says was JFK’s biggest achievement even though he was dead by then. These cuts were followed by an increased deficit, as were the tax cuts of 1981 and the Bush tax cuts of 2001. So like I say in the heading - - Christianity embraces a fundamental and pro-active Indifference to the Obvious. It’s like- - not to hit below the belt or anything but what if you said to one of these people “Are you going to make love to your wife tonight? Why? You’ll only want to make love to her again in a few more days so what’s the point? Doing it tonight won’t bring Evernal happiness and since we should always have Eternity in mind as Christians, that means you shouldn’t do it. He’ll look at you like you’re nuts of course- - but maybe a light bulb will eventually go on.
